Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

73 is a return thermistor fault , you will need to get an rgi to take a look as it's not a DIY job , post up your area and one of the fine service engineers here should be able to help you out

i'm based in cork city, the thermostat is f**ked so is it???what would that cost to fix??!

A thermistor isn't a thermostat, it's a temperature sensor inside the boiler. If it's the problem they aren't too expensive, but it might be another problem that is causing the fault to occur , only way to know is too have it looked at by a competent engineer

would it be normal to run for 10-15 minutes and then cut out because of this issue???

It would be because it could take this long for the temperature anomaly to occur , your problem is why it is happening , could be a circulatory issue or it could be a straight forward thermistor fault .

If the NTC was giving an incorrect resistance reading back to the pcb, the pcb thinks the boiler is running at a hotter temperature than actually is. It would then be receiving a different resistance from other ntc's so it knows the reading from the return is faulty. When cool, it reads correct.

so it'll keep cutting in and out until fixed???!!

    Yup.
Call in a RGI. They can test the resistance at the fail point & compare it to the actual temperature of the return. This will confirm that it is the NTC that is at fault. If this is not the fault, they can test the other associated components to diagnose.
