Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Radiator Flow + Return Temperatures

    Hey all,
New build just complete here with Oil Fired Condensing Boiler + Radiators.
Radiators are coming on but the flow never seems to go above 50 degrees celcius where the all the literature I've read (including the boiler manual) seems to suggest the radiators should be reaching 70 on the flow and 50 on the return.

Just wondering if I'm reasonable to expect this? A 20 degree difference between measure vs. recommended seems a lot!

I'm measuring the temperature at both ends of the rad with a laser thermometer.

Have you the stat on the burner turned up?

I was using a laser myself a while ago and found the laser could be off by ten degrees. Depending on the surface.

I haven't turned up the stat on the burner just yet. I wanted to make sure I was measuring the right way. Is there any reliable way to measure the flow temperature? I've seen some wire-based thermometers you wrap around the flow, but wasn't sure if they're any better than the laser.
