Good fight. Was closer than 30-27 but a good win for Pettis in the end.

I remember her reffing a heavyweight fight one night and she struggled to pull the fighter off the chap getting battered.

Story looked really good, didn't realize he beat Hendricks makes me think twice about the outcome of the main event :P

Being picky about this fight he should of put that to bed in 2/3rd round.

Can never stand to watch Leites fight. He's not quite the Ben Askren type of fighter who likes to nullify with grappling but he's not far off it.

    Almost fell asleep there

Not a good fight, for the attempts at finishing it, it never looked like coming ever.

Can't wait for this.I l love GSP and his style, he controls his division, but I hope Hendricks sparks him!

    ;) Cowboy

The guy can look f**king awesome makes me wonder is it when he gets close to the belt is it mental issues that stops him? Real shame if it is and hope he can overcome it.

What a card so far tonight, every fight has been great. I'd love to see Lawlor get one of his signature knockouts here but I think McDonald might be too good and have the technique to avoid it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,323 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

The closer this fight gets, the more I think Hendricks is gonna pull this off

I hate to buy into "hype" or whatever but I honestly think that Brandon Thatch will be well able to deal with the top guys in this division. He looks like he has the makings of a champion. GSP has been great but I doubt he'll be the champion much longer, Hendricks is a wrassler/heavy favoured hand guy. I think we'll end up with a proper, well rounded young fighter as champ like we have now in most of the divisions.

Whoever wins this fight won't hold the belt for much longer IMO.

Can't see this going the five rounds.

    Hendricks is winning this fight.

GSP needs a finish in the last round IMO.

    An ultra-good fight.

Never been much of a GSP fan but sad to see him put in such a poor showing.

3- 2 Hendrix fair play to him he seemed a top guy in the build up

4-1 loss ends up the winner

    Judges wrecking this sport.

Oh wow! Is GSP retiring? He almost never said what he said..weird

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 232 ✭✭thehairyone

I had rounds 3 and 5 to George. Rounds 1 and 4 to Hendricks. Round 2 was tight but I thought Hendricks did enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,755 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

GSP running from a rematch? is he retiring sounded a bit like that, i mean him going away for a while might mean forever

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 232 ✭✭thehairyone

Knew GSP was going to get the nod there. He's the UFC's golden child. Hendricks had to either finish him or win it by a mile to have a chance.

Not sure what they do now with this semi-retirement business?

Should of never got off GSP in the fourth and cruised in the fifth round.

    Heres the score card:

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BZQCuFYCcAAI__a.jpg

    All 3 judges scored it:

    Rounds 2 + 4 - Hendricks

    Rounds 3 + 5 - George

The split was in Round 1.

GSP off to Bellator to replace Askren obviously.

it was 2 rounds apiece going into the fifth and GSP won the last round ,it was a very close fight but it was no robbery,

    Hendrix champ in Rematch!

Most people gave Hendricks the first, second and fourth. A quick glance at the play by play of the varying websites would back that up.

Look at the damage on both fighters at the end, doesn't tell the whole story but Hendricks wasn't hurt once in that fight whereas GSP looks like he stuck his face in a blender.

It's the biggest robbery I can remember when you consider the stakes.

Just seen press conference, Christ his face is a mess! 70%???!!! Wouldn't like to see it if he gave 100%

Tough fight to call but I gave it to Hendricks... Just about. Enjoyed that main event. Really gave GSP a good fight.

My jaw literally dropped when they announced GSP the winner. He wasn't. He had two rounds and as close as the second round was, I gave it to Johny.
Poor lad - I'd bet against him but I was actually gutted for him. He won the fight.

Fight metric have it for Hendrix too. Im watching it with sound off at the moment and has slightly different complexion. Still close either way.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Close? Are you kidding, GSP got annihilated.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,438 ✭✭✭✭El Guapo!

I just finished watching it now.
I have to say, I thought Hendricks won too. He clearly did more damage than GSP did and he should have the belt now.
The one thing I will say is that you can't base it on the state of GSP's face. He gets busted up easy enough.

It may have been a closer fight than everyone thinks, but on the first watching, the wrong decision was made.
I'll watch it again later with the sound off and I'll score the fight myself to see how close it actually was.

There was some great fights on the card though.
Really enjoyed Woodleys KO of Koscheck. That was about as sweet a KO as you can get.

Also thought the Lawlor v McDonald fight was awesome. I always liked Lawlor and I'm delighted for him.

Really impressive, dominant win from Rashad too. I hope he gets a title shot again soon before it's too late for him.

Just finished watching myself, defo thought Hendricks won, GSP did too judging by his muted reaction at the final bell.

Delighted ruthless got the win, I have an intense dislike for McDonald for some reason.

did anyone else notice how in shape rashad looked . He was much more ripped then he usually looked
