The urge to blame Moyes runs high of course, but to lay the blame for the squads injury troubles at his door is to ignore the frequent injuries the squad has had to deal with the last few seasons.

here here... sick of hearing that! We've had bad injury crisis before, and Everton under Moyes always had a small squad. I doubt the fitness regime has changed vastly at Utd

Not confirmed or anything but apparently the guy who tweeted that was outside the team hotel.

If that is the squad, then I'm seriously worried. No Rooney, Van Persie, Carrick or Rafael = dropped points.

Why would they stay at a team hotel for a game in Old Trafford..

    Clearly BS

David Moyes pulls a Fergie as he bans a reporter from his press conferences

It’s beginning to feel like Fergie never left.

The Daily Mirror’s David McDonnell is out the door and banned from further interaction with David Moyes and his Manchester United squad, in a move that’s making journalists at Old Trafford feel like the good old days have never ended.

According to McDonnell’s most recent column, he was banned from the newspaper section of Moyes’ last press conference for trying to get the starting lineups out of his contacts to publish them before the manager himself reveals them one hour before kick off.

I think they usually do meet up and stay at a hotel even for a home game.
I think I remember seeing an interview where, I think it was Rooney, said that it's tough to leave your house on Christmas Night to go to a hotel to stay with a team for Boxing day games, even if it's a home game.

Rooney entered OT with the rest of the squad :)

Surely if he was injured he wouldn't even be included

Why do I get the feeling I'm going to be severely depressed watching our game after watching the quality of football in this early game.

Not a nice feeling at all

It looks like more than a hot patch of form now, Liverpool look like a genuinely excellent team, but not title contenders yet i don't think. What i'm trying to say is, we will be playing Europa League football next season.

    Bit pre mature no?

They are in a great spell of form, they don't have the quality in the squad to sustain this for the whole season, if Suarez gets injured, banned or has a poor run they are ****ed.

    Settle

Loving the back 5, my personal first choice back 5

The midfield is ok all things considered and I like the strikers as long as Rooney is fit

Rubbish. Chico has scored and dropped in the next game plenty of times

Plus I rather see the better player play tbh

Nah, they're nailed on for top four now. I was slightly concerned about them winning the league but away games to Chelsea and City should put an end to that soon. They're missing Gerrard and Sturridge and still sweeping teams aside, including Spurs.

Plus they've got the best player in the league, by a distance.

    *grinds teeth*

Im not just talking about this season. Todays football is a squad based game. Not sure why Welbeck should be playing again after playing midweek, where as Chico has barely played and is over all the better player.

I am very very worried we are going to loose a superb striker, ill be gutted if he leaves.

Despite the aggressive response Ill answer calmly, Hernandez has been rubbish this season when he has gotten a chance, Welbeck took his chance last game by scoring a couple and playing well, he should be rewarded for that by getting the start today. He links the play better and there is no point in knocking his confidence after he performed well when given an opportunity.

At the moment, Welbeck is the better player so you are getting what you want.

Gerrard is a passenger in most games tbh, Sturridge is hardly a loss when Suarez is in this form.

What price would you give me on them finishing outside the top 4?

    Not sure why?

How about because he did well midweek and should be rewarded by keeping his place in the team?, because he scored a couple?, his confidence will be high and maybe he have a good run of form now?

Not sure where your getting the "aggressive response" from, you read to much into stuff tbh. I wouldnt agree he has been rubbish, I agree he hasnt been the best but I put that down to not playing much. 3 games he has started, how is he supposed to get to the same level as he was last season with that?

Since Chico has come to the club he has shown why he is the better player, welbeck so far is the definition of one swallow never makes a summer. If he keeps scoring of course ill change my mind but right now I rather seeing a proven goal scorer like Chico starting.

I feel sorry for Chico since the fans seen to forget what he has done for the club so far and they rather have a player who come on has scored **** all in his utd career. Welbeck has never even got into double figures

2 losses away to City and Chelsea(which isn't too unlikely tbf) and could be out of top 4 by next week!

3 wins for yourselves in the next week and you could be back in the top 4.

Nothing is nailed on this season.

Dismissing my post as rubbish is aggressive.

I don't think many people are forgetting how good Chico is at what he does, but he has not covered himself in glory this season and it is not an injustice for Welbeck who performed when called upon last week to keep his place.

If Rooney was out Id want Hernandez in, I wanted him to start mid week too

Of course, we have been through too much to let it all slip away

You still upset about Welbeck starting or have you mellowed a bit now he scored (and we are playing well offensively)
