Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Brave team selection from Moyes. Great to see Fletcher back but hopefully he's ready. Would have liked to have seen evra rested. Still should be good enough to beat Hull. 7 British players..

Quick match thread up,would take any kind of win today against the meanest home defence in the league.

Happy to see Welbeck and Young in the team due to their recent form. Not so excited about Clev but we have injuries in that area.

Delighted to see Fletch start. I doubt he'll get a full 90. Carrick will surely come on for him at some stage.

Happy to see fletch start.can have no complaints with welbeck considering the form hes in. Same with young.

Guarin wants to stay at Inter and Reus will cost 40m according to reports this morning.

Are either worth breaking the bank for?

    At least Guarin is not.

Reus is worth every penny, doubt he'd want to join United though

With Young and Valencia on the wings today we could sure use someone like him

Has anyone noticed how much you can hear the United fans in away games these days? I've never noticed it as much before. Fair play to the away fans.

De Gea must be getting pretty frustrated playing in goal for us

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,500 ✭✭✭Your Airbag

Val and Rooney really lost Chester badly for that first goal. The second goal was all on Evans, scuffed his first clearence and I have no idea what he was thinking poking his foot at the second shot, I don't think it was even goal bound and after his botched clearence seconds earlier you'd think he'd have left it for DDG or made a decent attempt.

    Good News
United win. Val has to be dropped. Fletcher got a fair bit of playing time. Only 5 points off the top (though with everyone to play still).

    Bad news
Incredibly bad and negative tactics near the end that could have cost us. Relied on an own goal to win. Defense was a shambles at multiple points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,521 ✭✭✭Giggsy11

Match day thread is a disgrace, we scored 3 goals to come back from 2-0 down to win the game but people still moan about United not being adventurous. Faceplamworthy.

Hull had the best home defense record in Europe IIRC and we scored 3 goals there, that's a very good achievement and yes we had to drop deep to defend the lead at the end. I'm sure Arsenal dropped so many points in the past when they refused to defend and kept on attacking till the last min and conceding in the last min.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,006 ✭✭✭beno619

Cleverley was back to his old self in t he second half, lots of sideways and backwards passes putting the defence under pressure. Not brave enough to step forward with the ball.

Fletcher was a plus, solid performance.

Glad Moyes went for it, but that last 15 mins was rough

How often have we been good this season though? A handful of times at most

It's going to bite us at some stage if the way we play isn't sorted out

Its not until the last minute.

We rarely kick on anymore and try and seal games. We are better than the vast majority of teams we face but we are drawing them onto us in an attempt to hold 1 goal leads. Its really stupid

Hope Welbeck gets a deserved bolloxing by Moyes.

Just hoofed ball that caused so many problems for us the last few minutes.

    No Brain.

People only seem to want to talk about the negatives with Moyes.

We had a terrible start but got back into it against a very tough to break down defense, Hull had 9 men behind the ball at most times. We dominated possesion for large periods and looked better for the majority of the second half.

Yes we had a nervy 5 mins at the end but were down to ten min after Moyes made the defensive move.

    Overall we deserved it.
