Has to be the Nation, have very fond memories of them feuding with Ahmed Johnson, Dx and Stone Cold.

The Nation is triumphant against their poorer WCW counterparts. Expect them to go far in this tournament. We have only 4 matches left in Round 1 so let's move swiftly on.

probably the only one but the dark carnival, were involved in some great feuds and liked the edge they brought.

Pretty sure I hated Team Angle when I was younger. Which was exactly their job and so I pick Team Angle.

Team Angle. A perfect way to introduce Haas and Benjamin and make them out to be a big deal. Just a shame neither of them amounted to anything afterwards.

Team Angle, loved them. All great wrestlers to boot

The former amateur stars go through without any real trouble. In our next matchup we have another crew of mat grapplers taking on a stable whose popularity I'm curious to find out about.

Right to Censor. Hated them as a kid, which meant they were doing their job.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,839 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Wouldn't be a fan of either but I'll go RTC.

The small tweaks made were nice. Stevie to Steven. The smut duo (Val and Godfather) becoming the smutless. Having their own little prude diva Ivory.

RTC , besides Bull, I liked the group. They Just didnt have a star of the group.

I despised there theme music...... heel heat at its purest

RTC advance to round 2 which leads us to our penultimate match of the opening stage. This match-up features the only ROH stable to enter the tournament. Let's see if they can overcome a WWF outfit....

Jimmy Jacobs, Tyler Black, Delirious, MsChif, Lacey, Brodie Lee (Luke Harper), Necro Butcher, Joey Mercury

I liked the Jackyl but this stable was bad news bears.

Age of the fall wins it for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

AOTF played a big role in Black's rise to the ROH title which got him signed by WWE. That alone should see them advance.

Huuuuge hype for AOTF when they made their mysterious debut. Plus the truth commission did nothing.

The moody and dark Age of the Fall conquer the Truth Commission 4-0. This is the final match of Round 1 and is hopefully the last of our dud draws....

3 Count.... wasnt a huge fan of either team to be honest.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,839 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Impressive lineup for NWA but never heard of them. The what, where and when. The only NWA stable worth mentioning came straight outta Compton.

    3 count for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

.....I'm a 3 Count fan. And not an ironic one, I really enjoyed 3 Count.

The NWA by a mile. Shame they never really did much.

They were a loose stable brought in by Cornette as NWA 'invaders' somewhat in early 1998 to the WWF. It was to benefit Jarrett I think. The Midnight Express defended and lost the NWA Tag Titles to the Headbangers on a show too. They were pure filler for the most part though and not really a concrete faction, more a loose collection. I was really struggling for stables and these boys were number 64.
