I was told by someone that instead of saying Merry Christmas Limerick the lights at the O'Connell/Glentworth Street junction used to say Merry Christmas Eric instead!

Yeah, in 2008 it said "Merry Christmas from eric " by Ulster Bank on O'Connell Street! :pac:

I believe Santa is turning on the lights. He will be in situ in a log cabin in Thomas Street for the Christmas season. Lot of work being done on the cabin, will be a welcome addition to the city for Christmas and it will be the only Santa in the city this Christmas.

    Hey folks
    Any lights are appreciated
I read in the paper that Sligo town may not have any lights this yr because the bill for last Christmas still has not been paid.

Terrible for Sligo....i cannot imagine our town without Christmas lights.

They might be happy to have "Eric" over their main street this yr.

I have to say I'm very impressed by the lights this year. They are really good quality. The new 3d stars are a great addition.

It's crap. Although the lights are unreal in the city, very good effort.

Drove up by prospect too, how some of the people up there are able to afford the bills are beyond me!

wow. yea i seen it last night. ive seen it every night ive been out with teh dog. i just thought it was a regular tree with lights on it. it is RUBBISH. i mean i dont wanna be a downer here but surely when they hyped up the christmas tree they wherent talking about that. i mean my own christmnas tree is better decorated than that "yoke"

that disappointment aside the lights around the rest of teh city are really lovely. how come we dont have any on henry street though??
