There are only 2 full width lines. Have they not won 4 grand tours or are they stripping themselves of them just in case?

Agreed, the equally rare beam deserves a proper frame.

I had the privilege of cycling one back in the day.

I like the aerodynamic butt-plug stuck in the hole where the seat pin used to go :pac:

There is no gentle word to describe this, I shall remain quiet then and let the photo speak by itself.

That first made an appearance in these hallowed posts a couple of months back. We were stunned into silence then too!

The bottle launcher at the front might come in handy.
Like when you are stopped at a red traffic light and some fat-ar$ed person on a bike nonchalantly swings around, and comes to a wobbly halt just in front of you, moments before the light turns green.

The only problem with it is, a bike having "attack" written on the tyres must always be ridden in an aggressive riding position, which can be quite hard on the back, going around town.

Saw it on Facebook, don't think it needs the lock

Wow! I didn't know they did chainrings in 700c.

When you want to beat the land speed record on a bike, ride a local TT and try your hand at cyclocross but can only afford one bike.

    Problem solved.

I like it. It probably belongs to a very fast commuter. Too many people these days buying fancy steeds off the peg and haven't a clue how to maintain them, let alone build up a bike of their own.

I like that, but it's like colourful football boots, you'd better be good if you turned up to a 5 aside game with them on.

the chaining looks odd - the rear derailleur looks like it's not got much left if you go small-small.

I'd be a fan of many things Canyon, but this just doesn't sit right with me :(

    Disk brakes ?

( who the hell needs disk brakes on a tt bike anyway )

I may be sick, twisted and depraved but I think that's pretty damn cool

Anyone who has destroyed their carbon clinchers with too much braking heat?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,992 ✭✭✭✭recedite

Also the angular profiles similar to a stealth airplane would make it very hard to detect by a Garda with a radar speed gun.
Just sayin. Not that its a real concern for me usually.

They might be better off with a different sport.

very unlikely on a tt bike, usually only happens under sustained braking on long descents, which generally aren't where tt's are based .

cervelo have been talking about data on their new disc brake bike which shows that it's faster than traditional brakes, even the hidden aero brakes. IF that is the case, it makes sense i guess. either that or it's pure marketing, but [irony] bike companies don't usually get involved in that [/irony]

*POP*! I think Cervelo just burst through the credibility barrier there!

Not that I'm a fully qualified aerodynamics engineer, but even I'd be sceptical that adding on the disc, and the extra hub width to carry the disc, and the big caliper housing would be less disturbing to the air flow than regular or aero rim pinch brakes.

Still, they are new and hip on road bikes so maybe they meant that they would sell faster.
