Did a double take there , those aren't just the wrong way up their back to front so gears and breaks are reversed too. Likely a lazy way for someone not used to the Irl/Uk way of gearing and breaking to change them around and save redoing the cables and shifters.

I can't fathom what he was doing, other than trying to get a sit up and beg feel from his handlebars. I kind of take your point RE the braking and avoiding redoing the cables, but the gear levers are aligned the same way pretty much universally (i.e. left side for front mech, right for rear), so this just puts them backwards!

That would like someone driving a hire car using an elaborate system of mirrors to make driving on the opposite side of the road "easier".

It used to be a thing in the 80s. Not sure where it came from....maybe a film with the Karate Kid in it.

Edit. No - it was Graham Obree.

Healy Rae should get one with his millions. He wouldn’t have to worry about it being stolen while left unlocked.

I have always thought Ribble built some decent bikes for the money but they have sold their soul to tap into the spending power of triathletes

Gas torch to remove that thing at the back, then stick the down-tube into the forge and go to work on it at the anvil to straighten out that curve.

You could use that saddle for splitting firewood during the winter season.
A dual use bike is always a useful thing to have.

It's actually growing on me. A structural, aerodynamic mudguard is some kind of perverted genius.
