Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

does anyone know when this is advertised? How you can find out what the offer is without going in-store??

I need to do the shopping either today or tomorrow - and I might hold off until tomorrow if I knew what their offer was. I rang Dunnes in Beacon but they said they didn't know yet.

    Thanks

One of the offers is Lucozade 6 pack for €2, heard it on the radio tonight. Usually they have the offers in tomorrows Metro, probably most of the main papers too.

Have to say Dunnes webpage is really poor, one of the worst of them, rarely updated and hard to find offers on it, perhaps that's the way they want it

Heard about the Lucozade. Definately picking that up if still there. :D

Does it not say from 15 euro and then beside Baileys 21 euro, sorry to disappoint but check it out, think the 35cl in Tescos are 6.50, Tesco website a bit misleading with the price

Baileys is very clearly marked at €15 in the advert posted...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 342 ✭✭andersat2

Got 1L of Baileys last week in Amsterdam Schiphol airport for... 14.50 Euro !
    That was a DEAL (2 bottles 1L x 29 Euro)!
    :)

Anyone know if the Dunnes money off vouchers they sent out this week can be used on alcohol? ... Don't have them with me and wondering if I should pop home to get them to use them for the baileys?? Or do they not include purchases of alcohol?

why not just get the McCormicks or the like for 7 euro instead, it all seems to taste generally the same.
Talking of which, Tescos has stopped doing their cheap Malibu equivalent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 945 ✭✭✭Only

I've tried a few of the cheaper ones and thay are grand but 'just not the same' as having baileys. And at €15 per bottle plus vouchers off its worth the bit extra for the real stuff :P ... That and one of them is a Christmas pressie.

On another note - I never knew Tesco did a spurious Malibu!!??? What was it like?

its coco cobana, very nice especially as malibu will always have a mixer. Dunnes have one but its €12.
Sickening that I got 1L of Malibu in Canaries last month for 9.95......

Is it any wonder that kids are getting so heavy when these are the special offers from the supermarkets.

They are not the same. The cheaper ones generally use fortified wine as the alcohol base while Baileys uses Irish Whiskey. Also look at the volume of the products and the cheaper ones are always less than 15% v/v. Anything less than 15% volume cannot be classified as an Irish Cream Liqueur.

It's actually 6 bottles of lucozade, not cans ;)

I just looked at the baileys in tesco for comparison.
I thought I was imagining it but two 35cl bottles in tesco is actually cheaper than buying the 70cl.
They have a strange pricing system

Cheap Irish cream is exactly that cheap Irish cream, If you drink Baileys you can tell the difference straight away. Huge difference in taste, have never tasted one that comes close in comparison.

No no, they're awful, just like their name, their taste is completely devoid of goodness or imagination

It sullies the name of every single tea to be associated with it.

    Supervalu @ €6.50

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

USA biscuits are the posh tin in my house! I got a tin in Supervalu for 7 quid last week, so the Dunnes deal isn't great.

I just need a tin of chocolate kimberlys and the Christmas biscuits will be sorted :pac:
