Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ronaldo killed by his teammates after scoring a hat trick, as is customary.

What an unbelievable game. Not enough credit to Moutinho (think it was him for the third too) for the world class assists for the 1st and 3rd goals. Incredible by Ronaldo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,998 ✭✭✭grohlisagod

That was devastating from Ronaldo. Hard to argue with him being the best in the world this year.

The pass for the first was sublime. But Ronaldo's movement and finishing is extraordinary. It's one thing getting those chances. It's another burying every one with so much on the line.

Moutinho has been excellent, you're right. Nani has been pretty cack however, just to balance this whole thread out with some negativity

Baffling that some people wanted Zlatan to go through for the sake of maybe one or two great goals before they inevitably got knocked out at the expense of the best player in the world right now and a player who will go down as one of the greatest to have played the game and is at his peak right now scoring great goals in every game he plays.

    Baffling Bill, just baffling.

Can't wait for the World Cup now.

I love those types of break at speed goals. Just get Ronnie running behind the defence and with a good ball he will finish. Sublime stuff

    I voted Zlatan.

But Ronaldo deserves to be at the World Cup he is the best player on the planet right now.

Portugal set to make an application to Fifa tomorrow to change their name to Ronaldo...His a one man team and unless Messi can get it done on the international stage before his career is out Ronaldo may be the player of his generation...

Happy Ronaldo is there ahead of Zlatan much better player...Still like Zlatan tho:D

Only bits and pieces to be honest but what I've seen has been a team were Messi doesn't look like the Messi that plays for Barca...But I've definetly seen a whole lot more of Messi with barca than with Argentina

For me it was the off-field stuff as well as his on field stuff. Still may get some absolute cracking quotes from him now though. It was nothing against Ronaldo at all, just that if a gun was put to my head and I had to chose one, I would've said Zlatan for the craic.

Tough consolation prize now though I guess, getting to watch the most in-form player of the year getting to play in the WC.

Well you'd be wrong. 18 goals in 16 games for 2012 and 2013.

Yeah i've just seen that, but its certainly taken time for him to announce himself on the international stage...The world cup will tell a lot for both players to be honest...Still the two best players in the world by some distance IMHO
