Maybe I now need something stronger to hold the Micropore tape on.....
    Nipples still aren't right.

Just use micropore tape over the nipple, no plasters. I use the 3M one, have never had one fall off or even partly peal.

Is the race pack due to be sent out this week or next?

OK, I've spent the last 20 minutes looking at the course map for the Half Marathon, because as I've said before it's been a long time since I've been around the city and its surrounds.

Overall it seems to be a fairly flat course (plate tectonic activity hasn't changed that much since my last visit :D) with the majority of the hills around DLS and Newtown area. Can anyone tell me, what surface is the Eco Park and does it have any pulls in it?

The 'out n' back' part around the Ballindud roundabout could be a bit of a head wreck, but at least it's flat I suppose.

Looking forward to it now, with the last of my long runs done last weekend it's just some tempo work now this week, with a 10 miler next Sunday with perhaps some tempo mixed into it and next week the dreaded taper begins, where one imagines all sorts of ailments of the body...and I'm only doing the half:eek:
Good luck to those doing the full, I'll leave my marathons til October.

At the risk of de-railing this thread into a discussion on nipple protection,
; tried the Micropore-only approach today. Tape fell off right nipple after 3 miles. I'll stick (boom) to the plaster plus micropore tape system for Sat week. Having said that I think the skin must be ultra dry before applying tape or plaster, hence I will be applying at 6am.

Quick question - will there be changing facilities, showers, etc available after the race? Thanks.

the first time for pacers in the half if 1:30 and for the full 3:00, I would have thought there would be another pacer group within those times, pity.

The tops are removed from the bottles at water stations so if like me you like to mix a elecrolyte or two on the hoof make sure you carry a cap with you for the bottle - Clare spring 250ml - Up the Banner!!!

Hopefully there will be some of said same bottles availble at collection of number etc!

I'd say the bottles might have sportscaps.

    2 right dossers pacing 3:30!
JG runs off a 2:50ish marathon, and BA has gone sub 3.
They'll be running backwards for some of it.

Not until we were out in Tramore last year were there caps on bottles - I will bring one just in case :)

for example it would be nice to have pacers for 2:50 or 2:45 for the full and 1:25 for the half.

Think the organisers are doing brilliantly to have the amount of pacers they have! You wouldn't see very many races with pacers below 3hrs for the full and 1:30 for the half.

ah yeah, I know, fair play to them. I was just noting often there would be a sub 3 hour pacing group if pacers were typically used. It's something I personally don't have to really worry about :D

    Think before you post.

A 2:45 pacer would have come third in last year's race, a 2:50 one fifth.
It would be madness to have pacers for those times.

That's a change for the better on the weather forecast! We'd be blessed with those conditions. Last time I checked (sat), it had a temp of 20 deg in sunshine! I'm assuming/praying they get more accurate as they get closer to the actual day! Enough things wrecking the head without the weather as well!
