Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

actual law on smoking/tobbacco posession?

    just wondering, i know you have to be 18 to buy cigarettes, but what about smoking or posessing them? what can the police do anything if they see a minor smoking?

    It's an offence to sell tobacco to a minor, it's an offence for a person over 18 to buy tobacco with the intention of providing the tobacco product to a minor but it is NOT an offence for a minor to buy, attempt to buy or ask another person to buy tobacco.
    It is not an offence for a minor to have tobacco.As with any item found on the person in the course of a legitimate search, a Garda may enquire as to where the tobacco was purchased / acquired but no offence has been created by the minor in merely having the tobacco.
    This is at odds with alcohol where it is illegal to attempt to purchase alcohol if underage and possession is also illegal and liable to confiscation.
