Clearing a cheque

I lodged a cheque in my Credit Union today & they told me it takes 10 days to clear. Is this real? I wanted to transfer some of it to my current Bank account.

Thanks for getting in touch.

We wouldn't be familiar with clearance times for Credit Unions. It may be that they need to lodge the cheque with their own bank to have it sent for clearing however, you would need to clarify this with the Credit Union directly.
