Bookmarks.

How can I hide my bookmarks. Some of them are permanently across the top of my homepage. There are also six little empty boxes across the center of the page (which the bookmarks fill from time to time) which I would like to hide.
This is all on windows vista.

I have already deselected "Always show bookmark bar " but with no effect.

That's built into Google Chrome, it's the default New Tab page that looks like this page.

To disable it, set your New Tab Page and Homepage to www.google.ie from Tools > Settings.

I've made the changes as suggested but unfortunately bookmarks are still across top of page.

Right click in the bookmarks bar and uncheck "show bookmarks bar"

Unfortunately that wont work either.

Believe it or not I am still trying to sort out this problem.
All my bookmarks used to be hidden under the Star (top right of page) but now while most are still there there are about six across the top of the page. I simply want to hide all bookmarks.
