    Saturday 7th
Hi all, thanks for a good night. Met some lovely people. It's a shame I had to leave a bit early to get the train as Hackney is a bit of a distance from where I live. Really enjoyed the night and hope to make the next meet up whereever it will be.

Incidentally for anyone who hasn't been to a Boards Beers yet I'd highly recommend coming. London can be a difficult place to socialise so it's a great way of meeting some like-minded Irish people.

No location set yet for the 13th, I'm leaning towards the Royal George off Charing Cross Road on the basis that it's central, has a good selection of beverages on offer, does decent food, and is conveniently near to further options if people want to keep going after closing time.

As it's a Friday meetup I'm going to skip any kind of food arrangements beyond what's on offer in the pub.

    Any alternative suggestions?

Travelling over to London on the 13th with one other to meet my sister. Can we drop in? -If I can convinve them, that is... :)

Boooo-urns :( is this because we made fun of you upthread? We love you really Reekwind, honest.
If I had an issue with people mocking me then I'd have left London long ago. No, keeping a tear-stained diary is enough to help me cope with your cruel barbs

This was purely a case of a hangover coupled with the outrageous distance that Hackney is from my house. I mean, what is this 'Overground' that people speak of?

But I hope that a good time was had by all and will see you... wait a minute, the 13 Dec is also a Friday? Who planned that?

Pulled up outside, took one look at queue, left.

I think maybe Beers 'within' another event is a bad idea.
Sorry about that, I hadn't anticipated the queue at all :( I think that in future it'll be best to avoid events, at least indoor ones.

You can of course - I'll PM you my number, give me a shout if/when you head our way.

Blame everyone who voted in the poll. And obviously the democratic ideal, too. I'm not impressed at this turn of events myself, I think 2014 will see a pronounced return to Saturday Night Beers and none of this Friday silliness. We wouldn't have this if the Fist Of Modly Powah! was in charge, I can assure you.

What was the decision on where it's happening?

Currently we're looking at the Royal George in Soho (just off Charing Cross Road) as it has generally been dependable in the past, is central and easy to find, plus has options nearby if people want to carry on after closing time. If we do go for there I'll try and get a table for us, it'll be too busy otherwise.

I'm still open to alternative suggestions though. I'll update the thread title and first post once we've got a venue decided.

As much as I enjoyed last Friday's meetup I doubt I'll make it to this week's one. Have a Christmas night already on that night, and after a whole weekend of drinking I'm wrecked and so is my bank balance!

Right, I've just PM'd everyone who said they can make it for this Friday - please reply promptly and honestly so I have an idea of what to expect. If we've got enough definites I'll book us a table at the Royal George - I should be able to get there for 6ish.

The venue is the Royal George pub in Soho - just off Charing Cross Road (Google Map). The nearest Tube station is Tottenham Court Road but Holborn, Covent Garden, Leicester Square or Picadilly Circus will all put you within a 5-10 minute walk.

Hi Choccie Lover, a few of us will be there from 6ish but most people are planning on arriving around 8 as far as I know.

Ok, I'm here - no tables as there are DJs hogging the snug :( Look for the idiot in the halloween-themed orange t-shirt if you've not met me before.

Place is busy so we've no table, but we're just inside the door by the lit-up reindeer.

That was a fun night, even if I did once again leave early. Did ye head on anywhere after the pub shut?

That's awful - which makes it an automatic "yes".

I headed off for the last tube. There were still a few stragglers who may have gone on elsewhere :-)

Thanks guys! Made a weekend in London so much fun. It was great to those there and dance with ye. I think I behaved myself... Had a great time home on the tube too. Apparently we're hilarious! Who'd have thunk it?
