Price of wing mirror

Just a small update. I ran into the guy I got the quote originally. He said the insurance company rang him saying they wanted to send someone out to look at the car. They are to ring him on monday.

not sure what to do. On one hand I can get a second hand mirror but a new one if the company pay up.

If I went for the second hand part and the company decided to pay could I keep the money and give the garage a 100 euro. Pretend they did the work etc.

Who actually gets the check.

So that is saying you could get the secondhand part and pocket the res?.

I.m not sure I even want to go through the guys insurance crowd. When I could the second part from a different garage job and all done for around 100 euro and done on the day.

I could be a few days without a car waiting for new parts to come in.

I feel I should pocket the rest for the inconvenience of a broken mirror

Just got phone call from the garage that they got the go ahead to put on the new mirror.

Really wouldn't have made a claim through insurance. Your insurance is going to go up, guaranteed. Irregardless of who was claiming off who, its a 'claim' on your record and insurance companies love that type of thing for loading.

Just my opinion, and from previous experience, but for such a low cost item I wouldn't have gone near the insurance. The cost of the item versus the potential increase on your premium doesn't make it worthwhile.

I got a letter from my insurance saying I reported it and it wouldn't affect my insurance. The case was closed on my side

I wouldn't of done anything about it if he had stopped instead of driving on.

I hope he learned his lesson to stop and slow down next time.

I have to call into the garage I the morning to speak to the owner. Theu have to try and fit me in. Told them I would like it done by Christmas.
They only have one part to paint rest is fitting amd small wiring
