problem connecting media player to monitor

    im trying to connect a sumvision cyclone micro 2+ to a sony FWD-32lx1r-s monitor. I am using a dvi to hdmi cable but it doesn't work. it comes up on screen as ''no sync''. any ideas gratefully appreciated. thanks
