    Hi all
I play quake live a lot and I noticed my ping started getting over 100ms. So I did a traceroute and then checked the IPs and it looks like my traffic is being routed through russia and finally to the UK (bit of a round about trip).
This sounds well fishy to me, anyone got any ideas? I'm with UPC.

    What did you ping?

I don't play multiplayer games, but imagine you need to select a geographically nearby server from a list?

Are you inadvertently picking a quake server which is in Russia?

No, it looks like its actually a UPC congestion issue, the russian IP is actually an irish server, but the location tables where not updated.
