Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I very foolishly loaned money to a guy I was dating! Would not have given him a cent but believed what he told me re finances etc! I feel extremely stupid and gullible! Loaned it two years ago, deal was it would be paid back in 6 months! Never saw a cent! I've gone to a solicitor, cost me more money! Sheriff was brought on board, still nothing! He now owns a house - does anyone know if I'm entitled to make him sell that house to repay loan. Solicitor's advice is not to go for sale of house, but it's a considerable sum of money?

If you went to a Solicitor, and unless it seemed extremely bad advice, then listen to what he has to say. Let him deal with it, and keep onto him (the Solicitor). Don't be listening to what people on the internet have to say.

If you did indeed issue proceedings against him for collection of the debt and got a Judgement, you should be able to instruct your Solicitor to enforce this.

Solicitor's advice is only advice - I presume he / she gave you options and the reasons for their advice. If they gave you an option but advised against it they will still pursue that course of action for you, but will put it in writing that they advised against it. You can get a second opinion if you are not happy. You will need to weigh up carefully how much it will cost you
