    Hi all

We have just gone sale agreed on a house and we’re not sure if we need either a structural engineer or a surveyor to look at the house, or both?

    House is around 1950s/60s.

    Can anyone please advise. Thanks!

Your Solicitor will more than likely advise you to get a structural Engineers report on the property. Lenders usually only request such a report if the property is over 100 years old. The lender will require a valuers report on the property however this is will only confirm the valuation.

Totally up to yourself .... you will probably pay circa €400 for the report which is probably small money in comparison to what you are paying.
