Retro fit back boiler-Position?

    i have a dovre 2000 and have recently bought a boiler to fit into it,my question is as the new the boiler unit is designed to fit against the rear wall of the stove, do I fit it up against the rear wall or have it offset and inch or so to increase the surface area to the fire? the diagram from manufacturer is not clear at all.
