Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Everton v Liverpool 12.45 BT Sport (Setanta Pack)

So then the first meeting of the Blue and Red finds both in pretty rude health in the PL table

    6th 20 pts Everton 11 points from last 6,
    2nd 23 pts Liverpool 13 points last 6

but form counts for nothing in a Derby game eh?

For Liverpool the main worry appears to be who will play at LB with Enrique under the knife today and will Sturridge be fit to play at all, never mind start. Evertons main goal threat Romalu Lukaku seems to have hit a bit of a wall having not scored a goal for anyone since the Villa game a month ago but you could never rule him out esp in a game like this. Liverpool have failed to score two times and lost both.

A win for the home side draws them level with Liverpool while a Liverpool win puts them top for a few hours at least.

Would be great to get a win given evertons form at home since the turn of the year but i think it will be a score draw.

Unless the thing you can't get out of is your uncle Bob's funeral in which case I apologise profusely.

    So 2-2 then? :)

Lukaku would have been the type of player to almost guarantee a dodgy defensive performance from Liverpool in recent times but I think they have the personnel to cope a lot better this season.

1-2 for me and Everton's season to level out a bit after such a great start. Just can't see them keeping it going.

    1-1 I think
    Or maybe 2-1 for Everton.

    2-1 blues

I just think we have a stronger midfield

*providing Barkley starts ahead of osman

Cissohko not even on the bench....would have settled for Henderson at RB.

I can see what rodgers is trying to so here but not starting sakho is a big call imo.

    Worried.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,517 ✭✭✭passremarkable

at least we have a good options on the bench
tough game for allen to come back in too..we have no width all though..be interesting to see how we go

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭mav79

Going to be very narrow and congested with that line-up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Henderson and Coutinho will probably be pushed out wide, and Allen will be the AM, I feel. His job will be to press in the manner we saw Henderson do recently in the same position.

    My two cents anyway.

Well that's a pretty irrelevant point now looking at the starting back 4.

Sakho and Toure out will be a massive talking point if Liverpool don't win.

Even more so after Sakho performance for France the other day.

Probably should have started Sahko, Lukaku must be raring to go

Not looking forward to this now after seeing that team. I'm genuinely worried :(
No Sakho makes me sad :(

Good interview with Bill Kenwright there, even from a Liverpool fans point of view.

Captured the excitement that comes with Derby game and spoke warmly about both sets of fans.

    Good to see/hear.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Probably going to be a lot more intense than usual derbies with all of the bodies in midfield

  • Site Banned Posts: 4,925 ✭✭✭Agueroooo

Was worried before I seen the line up but less worried now.

game would have been won and lost in midfield no matter how much you shuffle the back four, but looking at our revamped midfield I can see us having plenty on the ball.

Suarez is gonna get a serious amount of supply so an early goal is critical and on the cards.
