Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Are Quilted Jackets Warm Enough For Winter?

I was thinking of getting this: http://www.sportsdirect.com/propeller-quilted-jacket-mens-608718

How do folks find them? Are they any bit warm or just for a light breezy day? Are they of any use for real cold frosty days?

I was getting the above for practical day to day use but I also normally walk a good few laps of the local track daily and was thinking of wearing something like this with a hoody underneath, I also have a nice warm regatta fleece lined jacket which I usually use but thought the quilted jacket and hoody would be warm if the regatta was in the wash or something.

Not sure about jackets like that but you should invest in a long sleeve thermal top aswell and with the hoody and the jacket I bet you'll be warm as toast :)

Sportsdirect do sell thermal tops but I don't think they are great, maybe some of the brands are but I tried the Campri ladies ones before and I didn't like them. These ones from Tesco are brilliant...http://www.clothingattesco.com/underwear/f+f-heavy-thermal-long-sleeve-top/invt/fc321090

They are around €10 in the shops here and look fine under a normal tshirt and they are really soft and comfy but don't look bulky under tshirts.

If you're looking for warmth the most important layers are the ones closest to the skin.

They sell thermals of all shapes and sorts in dunnes for E8.00 as far as i know i picked one up during the week just there this friday..

As far as quilted jackets go,it depends on the material pvc or pu leather wont hold the heat in as much as leather..

It really depends on the lining is it double or single? Is it lined with another inside material or is it on its own?

And what is the upper material?
