Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd say you'd be looking at 9-10 of their first 11 anyway.

    Koscielny
    Metersacker
    Vermaelen
    Gibbs
    Monreal
    Wilshere
    Walcott
    Oxlade-Chamberlain

    Juventus
    Tevez( argentina)
    llorente( spain)
    Vidal ( chile)
    pirlo
    pogba( france)
    buffon
    marchisio
    Quagilerialla
    Chiellini
    Giovinco
    Lichtsteiner ( switzerland)
    caceres( uruguay)
    bonucci
    ogbonna
    isla ( chile)
    asamoah (ghana)
    Barzagli
    peluso
The rest I think all have a good chance of being in the Italy squad(may be wrong). Bring back c4 itialian football coverage as there are a few I wouldnt know too much about.
6 of those 10 italian juve players were in the latest squad.

Gibbs surely won't get in ahead of Baines and Cole. Ox is highly doubtful also, given other options ahead of him and the fact I feel he will struggle for game this year at Arsenal.

Bayern was the first that came to mind, and also Madrid and Barca would surely have a good few.

    Valdes
    Puyol
    Pique
    Alba
    Alves
    Mascherano
    Busquets
    Song
    Xavi
    Iniesta
    Fabregas
    Pedro
    Messi
    Neymar
    Alexis Sanchez

That's 15 from Barca and they'd all be dead certs if fit. Not sure if Adriano is involved much with Brazil, but he could be an outsider as could the likes of Barta or one or two of the other Spannish youngsters

Liverpool should have a good few there

    Suarez
    Sturridge
    Gerrard
    Johnson
    Henderson
    Lucas
    Kolo Toure
Victor Moses (loan but Liverpool's player at the moment)
    Mingloet
    Sakho

Moses was born in and represents Nigeria. Henderson is a regular in the England squad.

Ooopsadaisy, my bad, his appearances for english underage teams was sticking in my mind, tis late :(

Errrm, Henderson is by no means a regular in the England set up though.

The thread is who will have the most players so there is not much point everyone putting up a list of players from the team they support that clearly wont have the most players involved. Bayern, juve, barca, real seem the most likely so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

United should have 13, with De Gea, Young and Adnan as possibilties to bring that to 16.

DDG probably needs an injury to one of the other 3 to dislodge them (even though he should be at least number 2), Young is in horrible form and Adnan needs to declare for Belgium to make it. rafael probably wont make the Brazil squad, unless he has the form of his life in the next 6 months or more to the points, stays injury free.

It would only take an injury to Baines or Cole; Gibbs is 3rd choice for that position. Good point about Ox, but getting into the Arsenal midfield is at least as hard as getting into the England midfield at the moment so if he manages to get a regular berth with Arsenal he stands a good chance of getting to Brazil

    Arbeloa
    Ramos
    Pepe
    Varrane
    Coentrao
    Marcelo
    Alonso
    Modric
    Di maria
    Ronaldo
    Benzema

    Possibilities,
    Khedira (unlikely unfortunately)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

    Barca - 15
    Bayern - 14
    Juve - 14
    United - 13
    Arsenal - 13
    Liverpool - 10
    Madrid - 12

There's bound to be some surprise inclusions of form players and others but that looks about right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,819 ✭✭✭EuropeanSon

    15 from Chelsea maybe:
    Cole- England
    Luiz- Brazil
    Ramires?- Brazil
    Essien- Ghana
    Torres- Spain
    Mata- Spain
    Oscar- Brazil
    Mikel-Nigeria
    Schurrle-Germany
    De Bruyne-Belgium
    Hazard-Belgium
    Willian?-Brazil
    Cahill-England
    Azpilicueta-Spain
    Eto'o-Cameroon

Not sure about all those, but definitely quite a few will make it. Lukaku too, if you count him.

    Edited with countries

I reckon he's got a good chance though to make it as a 'utility man'. I think he's got a much better chance than Ox for example.

Good attitude and very versatile, he's the perfect squad player and if he keeps up his decent performances at club level I'd tip him to squeeze in.

By no means a certainty though

the arsenal site mentioned 17 potential today

with the 13 mentioned, i think they're counting:
    park - korea
    frimpong - ghana
    ryo - japan
    diaby - france

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,905 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    Hart
    Zabaleta
    Clichy
    Kompany
    Nasri
    Silva
    Aguero
    Negredo
    Navas
    Yaya
    Milner
    Richards
    Dzeko
    Lescott
    Rodwell

15 who have been in their respective international squads over the last six months, Fernandinho with an outside chance to be a bolter.

I find it hard to believe Rodwell has been near let alone in the England squad in the past six months, barely played for City since he moved.

Luckily I did my research before posting and he has, Brazil in June.

Posted by homerjay2005 on the Manchester United site.

    Valencia - Ecuador.
    Nani - Portugal.
    Kagawa - Japan.
    Hernandez - Mexico.
    RVP - Holland.
    Fellaini - Belgium.
    Evra - France.

and then England 8 so that is countries in total and with 6 probables in the England squad, that is 13 players in total.

Jones, Smalling, Carrick, Cleverly, Rooney, Welbeck will all be involved with England.

6 more players have a chance of making their squads, some need to be in the form of their lives and be injury free for 6 months to have a chance.

•Young could make the England squad, but needs to get back playing properly first.
•DDG should be playing for Spain, but he probably wont.
•Rafael???? could get into the Brazil squad, but unlikely.
•Henriquez has an outside chance of making it with Chile but unlikely.
•Adnan could be there, if he declares for Belgium.
•Zaha is unlikely, but possible with a big 6 months.

Rio, Evans, Giggs, Vidic, Fabio, Buttner, Lindegaard, Fletcher, Anderson all have no chance of playing in the World Cup.

Terry is retired, that's not a question mark. Dunno about van Ginkel or Schwarzer, but Bertrand isn't even the 4th best English leftback, so not a hope he's going.

    And representing Spurs:
    Lloris
    Walker
    Verts
    Sandro
    Paulinho
    Chadli
    Lamela
    Dembele
    Defoe
    Townsend

    And potentially:
    Capoué
    Soldado
    BAE

    And maybe (however unlikely):
    Dawson
Kaboul (4th French CB spot very much up for grabs)

10 that should go based on recent call-ups, however there's one or two that I'd have my doubts about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,979 ✭✭✭Vurnon San Benito

Newcastle United could have quite a few going too, depending on form of certain players. Bolds (definites in my book).

    Tim Krul [Holland]
    Mathieu Debuchy [France]
    Yohan Cabaye [France]
    Shola Ameobi [Nigeria]
    Fabricio Coloccini [Argentina]
    Cheick Tioté [Ivory Coast]

    Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa [France]
    Moussa Sissoko [France]
    Loic Remy [France]
    Hatem Ben Arfa [France]
    Davide Santon [Italy]
Vurnon Anita [Holland] -- doubtful, but never know.
