Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No he didn't have to stand there and take the tackle. He also didn't need to throw his leg almost like a stamping motion towards his head

    Haha, hilarious :D

and rightly so, because this is something that Suarez would have form for and somebody that keeps repeating things like diving, cheating, poor tackles etc etc will always, eventuality get more coverage.

as you said though, Suarez is a bad example, but so is Miralles. he never would be known for this kinda stuff and for now, its a once off.

doesnt take away from the fact that it should have been a red though.

The bloke has never been sent off for liverpool, what history of poor tackles does he have.

Yes you can throw up controversial incidents every week but I think you are missing the point.

I certainly can't remember an afternoon of football were two incidents occur which show both ends of the spectrum when it comes to how poor PL refs are in general.
I'm not missing any point. As I said, it's a reactionary thread.
Just like the darkest day in football thread was.

In fairness though they where both shocking decisions ! I mean mirallas can't claim he was going for the ball with a challenge that high and well Wes brown shouldn't have even got a yellow card for his challenge .

Wes Brown's red card overturned on appeal today.

That means 35% of the red cards Kevin Friend has given in the Premier League have been to Sunderland players, of which 40% have been rescinded.

God to see that the overturned it . I know it doesn't help Sunderland lost a man in their last game but at least they won't loose him to suspension .

I said this in the match thread at the time but you'd be hard pressed not to find someone who wouldn't like to give Suarez a kicking due to his antics. I'm sure that includes a few Liverpool fans too considering his behaviour over the summer, he brings a lot of it on himself.

It however, doesn't mean that people who give him a kicking should get away without getting a fair warning and that tackle was a red card all day long.

    We've been here before.
Referees try their best, but it's a tough job and sometimes they make mistakes. Always has been that way.

Of course Mirallez should have got red, but ref saw it really fast in an instant.

    That's football.
