Is that Amazon UK? They're customer service is usually pretty good, odd that they're being so unhelpful.

Yes, UK. To be fair they're usually spot on, didn't live up to expectations this time and communication was very poor.
Sorry I haven't been following the post in case you've already said but what did you order? There are certain items that they will only deliver to UK mainland and won't deliver to Northern Ireland.

They hadn't marked the item 'UK mainland only'. Would have saved a lot of hassle if they did.

Anyone else notice Amazon are taking a long time to deliver stuff these days? They used to be really good but now you could be waiting at least a week for an in stock item to be dispatched and not just during sales. Though ordered 2 sale items last week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday's was disptached on Wednesday and Wednesday's has been at "Dispatching Now" since Friday.
Seems they even know it since they now say on their site that if you want guaranteed delivery by Christmas, choose standard delivery.
Yes they seem to be painfully slow with items delivered by IParcel/Fastway but the delays are usually because my items have been held back in Amazon warehouses for checking before delivery/dispatch.
Are Amazon not using An Post?
They appear to use I-Parcel/Fastway for items that have tracking unless sent from Germany.

Their Customer care is next to useless when the issue is delivery delays.

It would appear they want to force people to pay for delivery by making the super saver delivery so awful that we chose to pay for a better service?

I found it fine. Got 4-5 Black Friday deals last week, and got all within about 3-4 working days.

Ditto. All my orders arrived yesterday by post. I ordered stuff on Wed, Thurs and Saturday respectively.

Got most of mine already, just one or two from .DE left to arrive. I've sent my copy of The Elder Scrolls collection back, the packaging was fine but the item was in no way giftable and had corners bashed in. They were sound about it, gave me a free return label and dispatched a replacement with regular shipping already. I wish I'd also done that with the Mistborn trilogy I bought, the corner is bashed on that one but I opened it already :D

I ordered some makeup to give as a present, delivery to Parcel Motel, got an email yesterday saying it was too dangerous to ship overseas so they had to cancel!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,584 ✭✭✭TouchingVirus

Nail polish I presume? Acetate products are hazerdous and AFAIK can't be air transported

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 773 ✭✭✭seklly

Yes, there was loads of random stuff but nail polish in there as well, that makes sense

We must have had different experiences so, I'm pretty relaxed about delivery times generally so don't panic if its not here in 3 days but any time I've contacted them their pretty good at giving me an answer. Also, the super saver delivery has been as good as if not better than the other shipping options.

Bloody An Post! Their mail business, like all mail businesses is focked because of electronic communications. So the one big growth area is parcels and they totally screw up and can't handle the Xmas surge. They'll probably lose their Amazon contract after this. Can we just have Parcel Motel run the country's postal system :D

I hope not. They had a parcel belong to me in the Dublin depot at 9:30pm on Wednesday night, so I figured it'd be in the parcel motel yesterday. Nope, it landed in there at 3am this morning when I really could have done with it yesterday. A 30 hour turnaround from delivery to the depot to motel is pretty bad if you ask me

That's too bad - I would suspect this would be the exception rather than the rule. I have used them many many times find them to be exceptional, especially their customer service.

Slower than their normal standards yes, but I've got parcels at Ballymount "on route to customer" since Tuesday and people on the consoles threads are waiting on Playstations sitting in Ballymount since last Friday.

Anecdotally it seems they are getting small packets out there but the bigger items take up lots of space in their vans so are being left to sit.

Okay, last order via amazon, just under a ton sterling, that's it now, goddam site and one-click checkout is just too easy, still saved a packet on some 1.2w LED spots versus prices here

Kept One Jacket, sent others back.

Speaking of the Cat Shoes. I had the same problem last year with a drill and received two. They're just too big now to NOT make mistakes.

Was it the 2013 version? I paid £45 for it but didn't get any email today. £45 was a great price but £18 would be even better. Set it up last night and it seems pretty good for the price.

100hz, Smart TV. Looks okay to me but I don't know a lot about TVs..just the stuff you plug into them,
I was planning on buying this one http://www.pixmania.ie/led-tv/lg-32ln5400-led-television/21489206-a.html, but just bought the one you mentioned... So I hope it's good, won't let me cancel now.

Mine arrived a few days ago. Hope you're as happy with it as I am! Great TV for the price of €229. Has everything you'd want app wise and the DLNA was an added bonus I never even knew it would have. It's connected to my ZyXEL NSA310 over the wifi and can play everything I've tried (HD MKVs etc.).

Looks to be the German model of this set here

I bought Disney Infinity for £29.99 during this sale and I just got the following email from Amazon.
We believe that we could have offered a better price for this item in our Black Friday Lightning Deals promotion. Therefore, we are refunding you GBP 5.00 in relation to your order.

Decent, it's still €60 in Smyths.
