Wow, so the guy has a 2-CD deck with a cross fader and lots of knobs, but I bet they only go up to 10.

Have a look at this prank when Vanessa Carlton got "Punk'd" by Ashton Kutcher. The Musical Director can't play any musical instruments but he "has a good ear for music". It seems that playing a CD in public is the way to make the big bucks these days.

There's a CD player in my nearly-new car... looks like a Jaguar... it's got leather seats... it's got a CD player player player player player player player player player...

That's the sickening thing, these DJ's make big bucks doing concerts and all they do is play a CD that has well interlinked tracks (or whatever the tech term is)

Btw, that Vanessa Carlton is an absolute babe!

Nothing quite like a 5-1 battering of the league leaders to give your mind a bit of respite :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,640 ✭✭✭Homer01

Thats what it originally was, necking a simple pint , but it escalated into this shíte of trying to outdo the "nominator" and just spiralled from there! Like i've seen people down pints with catfood, pubes and piss in them! Gobshítes Ted !

I have seen a serving PSNI officer down some serious amount of alcohol on FB before nominating others

    Talk about stupidity

Almost had a heart attack this morning! Got an email from 'The Recruitment Team'. Was NCA though.

Just wondering if anyone else has applied and/or knows how likely they are to have an AC in N.Ireland?

I didn't even know they were recruiting - missed the boat there - so I hope psni offer me a job!

I'm sure it was mentioned on here somewhere but IIRC it was in the thick of some PSNI stuff so probably got a bit lost.

The jobs are in 2 locations in England so it probably wouldn't have suited ye anyway!

I get daily summary of posts on this board.
There has been a few jumpy moments when the email titled PSNI Recruitment comes through.

Anyone know any information about the driving license requirement? Thoughts/opinions on the issue?

    You are aware that a D-L isn't required, I believe they considered having one a pre-requisite ! :)

Is anyone else struggling to not get their hopes up?

Yep, there isn't 1. If you don't drive I'd highly recommend learning though. Even if it's not a pre-requisite, in terms of practicality, it's pretty much essential.

I thought there would have been a requirement. It would make sense as driving patrol cars would be part of the job? I'm doing my Cat C at the moment already did my Cat B and A a good few years ago now. What happens then if someone passes everything, attends hotel G but can't drive a patrol car?

Don't forget to bring them to the PCA along with your cycling proficiency :)

As far as I know the police put you through their own driving training (providing you have your license) at GV. You can fail this and still go on to do the job, just not drive, obviously it's not ideal but I've heard that's been the case for some people.

my guess is that they just don't drive post training or that non drivers are strongly encouraged to learn whilst at GV.

I heard you are allowed to drive a patrol car, but can't use blue lights without passing a police driving course/test

I wouldn't want to be a police biker myself I enjoy it too much as a hobby to want to do it as a job. lol I just want in the door first then start thinking what to do if the opportunity ever does arise to specialise later

I can't ride a bicycle, but I've got my car and bike test! No cycling for me then! If I take my redundancy I'm going to go for the hgv, which is something I've always wanted to do. I had a few lessons and drove a tractor unit as my wedding car! Only thing was my vows got tested straight away. .. do you go in the car with the wife or drive the lorry to the reception!?
