Are you set on a semi auto .22?

If it were me I'd be looking at a second hand CZ 452/455. They are great rifles for the money.

Doesn't have to be a semi auto or a .22 for that matter.

    That CZ is very nice!!

Apart From the one the Army gave me no.......

Been meaning to get one since I left but work and family came first. I have access to plenty of land now and the money and time to sort it all out.

If you just want something that is a cheap and fun way to get back into shooting I would look at a CZ 452 .22lr. If you want something more hunting orientated I would look at the same rifle in .17hmr

I think myself the CZ .22 would be perfect for me at the moment. Is there any where is Ireland that stocks them and accessories for them?

I say nearly every RFD has some of them in stock as they are very popular. Here is a list of RFD's in Ireland

As for accessories the CZ needs nothing to make it shoot well but if you want to change things here are a few links:

Yeah as said CZ .22 is an excellent rifle for your money, second hand you will probably get it with a scope and bi pod for 350ish. You'll find a safe for about 150 but your license is another 80 and your safety course is 50 I think, ammo is penny's.
Shop around and be picky as hell don't rush into buying anything.
A lot a lads on here will give sound advice so any question you can think of post.

I'd assume he would I doubt our licensing system has the foresight to allow a former soldier to bypass it, I think my father sat it and he searved his entire working life in the military.
Maybe ring his local super and ask, could save 50 euro?

    Well I wouldn't ask.

As far as I know its proof of compitance he needs. Surely military service is enough. And sure if he was an nco or higher he is a firearms instructor. Ans sure if he manage a letter from an officer as a referance surly that's enough.

Was for me and my dad anyway.

The only way you will know if you need to do a safety course is to ask your FO or Super.
