Is there any such thing that exists for canada apart from the hugely competitive IEC Visa?

Not for working Ryan. J1 is only for America. You could still get the 2 year visa and do a few months if that's all you're looking to do. Only 120 Euro for the Visa. Be a different story if the Visa was a few hundred Euro!

Yes but you only have one opportunity to get the 2 year IEC visa so it seems a shame to waste it on a short 3 month term. You might regret it once you graduate.

The IEC is hugely competitive so don't really want to go down that road. I was just looking for something to do for the summer thats all

No there isn't anything. Unless you want to try the states for the Summer?
