Hi guys, I'm moving into a new house this week and I'm wondering how best to secure our bikes (three of us) in our back garden. The garden has absolutely nothing to which to chain the bikes to, and we won't have the money to buy a shed for another few months. There is a lane at the back of the house so any would-be thieves would find it easy pickings if they ventured our way. Just wondering does anybody have any suggestions on what to do??

Get something similar to this and anchor it to the concrete. Then chain the bike to it.

Any spare space inside the house? Hallway? Under the stairs? Utility room?

Have a look at the stolen bikes thread in cycling, if you have a nice bike and you keep it in any kind of shed its going to disappear some night, keep it in the house is the only option, upstairs landing, bike hooks or winches from Lidl etc, if you have a house you can store the bikes indoors.

Which is all fine once you realize that keeping bikes indoor is going to mean pedal and handlebars will inevitably damage the walls and paintwork.

Which is not wear and tear is should be added.

Aldi were selling anti scuff double sided wall stickers look like they would work a charm on this.

Bikes left in sheds and Back gardens are easy pickings for thieves. the only way to be sure of holding on to them is to keep them inside.
