Can anyone recommend a present (under €70) for a seasoned gardener (veg growing/not ornamental plants) He has a small heated glasshouse also.

Any new fad out there that would excite him or make his work a bit easier.

Has he got automatic vent openers in the GH?

You could get him a leatherman.

You can pick the tools you want on it and also get it inscribed. That or felco secateurs although I know I'm funny about which ones I find most comfortable as are some other people.

Automatic window opener for the greenhouse? (uses thermal expansion of wax , no power needed) or perhaps a soil moisture/ph reader?
    How about a cold frame?

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

You'll be wanting one of these Oscillating Hoes, I have the 125mm one and its fabulous:

PS you need a nice long ash handle to got with it.

Fruit Hill farm is full of good ideas for the gardener for Christmas, imo.
