Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Headphones plus TV Speakers at same time

    Hi there,

Dealing with an LG42LV355U TV. When I plug headphones in, the speaker sound is killed. There does not appear to be any setting to override this.

Anybody know any workaround to allow headphones and TV speakers to operate at the same time (one person of hard hearing in the room who wants to use the headphones)

    Thanks,

    Donal

When you insert the headphone plug it manually breaks the speaker circuit by pushing a spring-loaded pin to one side, remove the headphone plug and and the metal springs back to make the speaker circuit. That's how it's worked with radios for years and as far as I know that's what happens in TVs and with the headphone socket on an amplifier as well so it's not like there's a menu option to change the way it works

I have used headphones a Toshiba TV and had the sound come out of the speakers also, pretty sure its an option in the TV setup.

So at the risk of stating the obvious - have you checked the TV owner's manual?

    Yes I have :)

There doesn't appear to be a setting for it - that's why I was hoping somebody might know some workaround to achieve what I am looking for?
