Recommend me a pair of boots

So I'm in the market for a new pair of boots as the zippers are on the last legs on my existing pair (which also leak slightly but sealskinz socks fixed that)

Priorities are protection and waterproofing but I don't want to go for a full race boot and a lot of the waterproof boots seem to be lacking in protection.

Any recommendations in about the €150-€200 range?

When I was looking a while back, the ones I decided on that suited me best - and were best value were TCX SS-Sport Waterproof. Not full sport but good protection and waterproof. Having a look online they are even cheaper now! I know you don't want a full race boot but I bought these on the recommendation of someone here and have to say they're great. Great protection, waterproof and seriously warm. About 80 euro delivered. They are not motocross, and aren't too showy. if you screwed off the blue toe sliders they'd be quite discreet.

I really hate when people start these threads, give a pricerange and some idiot comes in and recommends something out of that price range.
But I'm going to do it anyway. Got these Dainese Boots over a year ago, they're still as good as new and they're the most comfortable, well made, 100% waterproof boot I've ever owned.

If there was a downside, they might be a bit too warm in summer around town.

They were outside my budget when I was buying boots, but I got them anyway and in 10 years when they need to be replaced, I'll definitely be getting something similar

They're out of budget but thanks for the input!

How are they protection wise, they look to just be material or are they armoured / hard plastic? I've seen similar things when looking at touring boots etc but they have the appearance (online at least) of not offering as much protection?

I'll investigate the one's Zascar a bit further, they will be replacing an Oxtar pair that have worn well in fairness to them so that's a plus.

I too am one of those idiots, but when they work they work. I have these 2 yrs and not even a scratch on them and I am out all the time. Never leak not even close and very warm in winter and cool in summer. Ideal boots.

They're very similar to what I have (mine are the Competizione WP) and they're a fantastic boot. Don't let a drop in and as for protection, I had them when I had my bad crash last year and went tumbling up the road at whatever speed, and they barely have a scratch on them. Great boot!!

Picked them up in Cotters last May for €40. Fit like a dream, completely waterproof and survived my first off without so much as a scratch. 18 months of driving in all weather and i've never had any complaint about them. And all for €40.

I have a pair of Hein Gericke goretex boots that I got over a year ago. Paid about £160 for them. Darn best boot I have worn. Driven in all kinda of weather, including torrential rain and they never let a drop of water in.

They have great protection, carroarmato is italian for "tank"! I got mine in bikeworld, they probably have similar in there still
