Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Mobile Coming this December

Before GTAV took us to the sun-bleached sidewalks and humming concrete freeways of present-day Los Santos and beyond, there was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the biggest GTA of the PS2 era. Now, head back to the early 90s with CJ and the Grove Street Families when Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas comes to mobile devices next month.

Encompassing Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything in between, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been upgraded for its mobile release. Newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas also features brand new touch controls including contextual control options to display buttons only when you need them and three different control schemes for driving and maneuvering, as well as a reworked checkpoint system for easier progression. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for mobile also comes equipped with full controller support, including Made for iOS controller capability on iOS7. Halle-fucking-lujah! I wouldn't have thought it was possible for the mobile devices, particularly the iOS devices given certain restrictions on the AppStore.

Have III and Vice City on iOS also, will be delighted to complete my GTA "3D Universe" collection.

After V, I think SA is probably my fav game in the GTA Series. It used to be VC but I think the range of missions in SA give it the edge - especially the jetpack stuff in the dessert.

I've a bad feeling that my battered old iPad2 won't be able to handle it though!

Got it on my iPad Mini, money well spent! It is incredible how they managed to scale down the game to the AppStore's 1.5GB memory cap, they still managed to retain a load of the features and all. No basketball, which is probably to be expected, but the controls are immensely improved over the III & VC iOS installations, and they weren't even that bad.

It looks very well too, all of the eating, exercising, tattoos, haircuts and clothes remain in the game. It did crash every so often at first, but I had a good long while of playing it there and there was no trouble at all. Up as far as Big Smoke's "damn train" mission, passed on the first attempt, although I never really had a problem with it myself.

I can't wait until further on in the game and see what the deal is with the planes, jet fighter, jet pack, hovercraft, etc. and how well do they control. This new addition to the AppStore has possibly alleviated all chance of me being bored for the next while anyway, fantastic game!

Filibuster

I've been playing it for a while now on a Sony Xerperia Z. It runs really well and I'm really surprised at the graphics etc. I was disappointed when I couldn't get past the Pier 9 level, I finished the mission but the game wouldn't progress. A known issue and the only way anyone can get past the level is to cheat and use someone elses saved gaming file.

The airplanes are almost impossible to control and tbh I have lost interest now trying to figure it out.
