Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Managers who played under great managers

Its always a point made, most recently with MON and Keane having played under Clough.

Marcelo Bielsa managed Diego Simeone, Mauricio Pochettino and Gerardo Martino.

Already Solskjaer is carrying on Fergusons torch.

What other managers played under greats and carried on their philosophies, and is it as big a deal as people make out?

I don't think it's such a big deal - for every good manager who played under a good manager, you'll find a bad manager who played under a great manager.

    Koeman also played under Cruyff.

Frank de Boer played under van Gaal, and Rijkaard played under van Gaal and Sachi.

Obviously its easy to exaggerate the influence but it is interesting all the same.

Dermot Keely managed Pat Fenlon who managed Owen Heary. Heary played under both Keely and Fenlon. Could be destined for big things!

For those of you who don't know, Catterick won 2 leagues and an FA Cup as Everton manager. Kendall also won 2 leagues, an FA Cup and a European Cup Winners Cup.
