Try adding 00353 and removing the first 0, so for example an 01 number would be 0035317777777.

    That appears to have worked!

I have a suggestion, how about giving these iPhones and this performance trial to the people who are on this forum with congestion issues so that they get something back from eircom and it might  help get their performance issues resolved?
You can find a list of issues the length of your arm in this forum, or are eircom going to fudge this and give the trial to a house hold were they know that they can deliver a decent service ie someone less then 10 meters away from a fibre powered hub, while the rest of us suffer a useless service.
Will the participants general information (distant from exchange/hub) and results be freely available or will eircom "hairbrush" them so they look like a service provider?

Also wish I was with eircom for this.. Be nice if Magnet or UPC could do something like this.. Sent it on to friends and family though...

    Hi Eddieken

Though a nice idea I am afraid that these 4 iPhones are for this trial only so cannot be diverted for other purposes.
Anyone interested in volunteering to be part of this performance trial is very welcome. There is no selection process, basically the first ones in will be accepted.
This forum is dedicated to listening to and attempting to resolve issues. As a forum it is true that there are many issues listed here. Many of these have been resolved, others are in hand, and for those where no resolution could be suggested here, or at this time, due to whatever reason, we can only pass on any response or suggestions made through the appropriate technical and support channels.
We are more than happy and continue to address and work towards answering all issue raised.

I am very surprised there have been no questions regarding this section ..... there is no clear statement, that I have seen, from Eircom that guarantees its customers are NOT violating any laws by using or sharing this software.

IMO, considering the above quote, Eircom should at minimum guarantee to indemnify their customers in case of breach of law.

In addition, I would be very concerned about the information that might be transmitted by this application.
We have all heard from many many sources that they do not send any personal or other specific information to 'home', only to have such statements proved false some time later.

With no user control over what is sent, apps like this should be avoided IMO.

Open the source code of the app and let the light shine in so we can all be sure there is nothing we don't like going on.

Thanks for the response Tony ......  but it won't make any real difference to me as I am excluded from this, as I am from other things from Eircom (Setanta sport), because I do not use some particular operating system.

I would advise people to consider what they are doing before taking part.

There is no technical reason the user could not have access to the information sent .....  it could easily be dropped into a user accessible file when being sent .......  but such openness is refused.

That is scary to me ......  particularly when the information being sent relates to MY computer and *maybe* (for all I know) relates to my personal information.

    Hi Guys - johny
apologies for delay but I have a response here..

The Actual Experience software uses strong cryptographic software that is controlled by export control laws. This software is only for installation in UK and Ireland.

In installing the software anywhere within the European Union, no law will be transgressed.

The source code for the agent can be accessed from the following web page

    http://actual-experience.com/sw/fc4cfbd5933875f87dedd0362a47513e/PerceptionAgent-2.0.7.4.php

Have a look. I hope this covers your concerns..

Thanks for the post and if anyone should have any further questions we are only too happy to help.

    Tony,
thanks for getting back on this matter.

I hope Eircom are warning their users who participate, about the requirements under this export law.

I would think that such a warning would be expected under Irish law, so Eircom would be covering their own exposure by doing so.

As I mentioned above I cannot participate due to the limitations of this software, but I am grateful for the supplied link, thank you.

    Regards

    Tony,
thanks for getting back on this matter.

    Regards
Happy to help Johnyboy1951, sorry that you can't take part.
The sign in page has been altered to make this more clear.
    Again thanks for the post.
    Tony

Out of curiosity, I know that I'm too late to qualify for the competition but if I downloaded and ran the software would the information still be collected and used by eircom?

That is my understanding MikeJK, if you do so before end of Feb you are still in competition for one of 4 iPhones.
