I've seen the rubber peel on those in the Golf's, Superbs and Passats, easily changed to be fair. Those are the parts that some Skodas don't have rubberized and it meant they wore better.

I think all cars have rattles somewhere but I can honestly say the worst I've come across is the first generation ceed. My sister doesn't give a toss about hers and it's annoying her. Like most rattles nothing that padding won't fix.

I heard of a fella that dropped a nearly new mk1 Octavia in to get dash rattles fixed, was taking out the radio to do a phone kit months later and found the sleeve of a jumper stuffed in the dash,

I'd believe it, as long as it does the job though and you're none the wiser it will do. Rattles drive me mad. I'd probably stick a duvet in the dash if it meant I cured one.

Yeah, I've got one recently near the glovebox. I actually turn the radio off so I can hear it and let it wreck my head.
Totally illogical. They drive me scatty.

Probably easily fixed to be fair.

You've never seen things like the grab handles worn down to shiny black cheap plastic.

    Early B6 Passats suffer similar.

My old BMW E90 had a rattle from the centre console but only in 5th gear. My CC has an occasional rattle from the coin box below the light switch. In fact of all the cars I have owned the only one that didn't rattle was the S40, it was very well screwed together. All my Toyota's dashboards rattled, I reckon this was a standard feature of them.

funny you should mention Toyota. I've had my fair share of corollas, both e11 and e12 and none of them rattled. The interior was excellently srewed together in them in my experience.
