Ive a light fixture thats running G4 bulbs. They blow very frequently so I want to change for LEDs. Will the 12v LED bulbs work without having to do anything else other than plug and play

at that price you couldn't go wrong to try thrm bulbs, what room is the light fitting located in, if it's in the kitchen forget about halogen bulbs dirt and grease gets onto the glass of the bulb and when it cools down causes microscopic cracks thats how the halogen gas escapes.

100 to 120 lumens is poor enough to be honest if you had 12V 50Watt lamps in there before you could be talking about 6 times less intense lights

No, the g4 bulbs are only putting out something like 20w but theres 8 of them in the light fixture.

Im happy enough with the lumens, its only the electrical compatability I'm concerned about.

Are you sure there is a problem with the halogens? Decent 20W versions will last years.

Those particular Leds wont last any longer than halogens, IMO half of them won't last a month. 3.6 watts in a package that small will overheat very quickly.

I have the light fitting maybe 4 years. Each bulb has been replaced at least 3 times. I've only 1 left from the last 8 I swapped in earlier this year as they keep blowing. I spent near 200e on the fitting so don't want to get another one if I can avoid it.
Those LEDs are putting out the same lumens and they're cheaper and should have longer life.
I've ordered them anyway so should know in the next week or so.

I fitted these last week, the light is brutal!

Initially they show some signs of promise but then just fade out to nothing.

Did you just change out the lamp or did you replace the transformer with an LED driver?

Just changed the lamp, never knew I would have to do extra, do you have a link?

Would this driver be sufficient for running 2 or more lamps?
OR would a separate unit be required for each LED bulb?

the one listed is rated as 18W.

so it'll run any combination up to that
eg. it'll run 6*3W LEDs or 3*6W or 9*2w Etc
