Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This may suit someone doing a part-time post grad...I just spotted on the AT site.

Job with An Taisce - Programmes & Administration Officer - Dec 20th 2013

An Taisce - The National Trust for Ireland, seeks to employ a Programmes & Administration Officer on a one-year fixed term contract (with possibility of extension/subject to funding).

The successful candidate will work under the direction of An Taisce's Director of Operations & Policy, as part of An Taisce's advocacy and properties team based at Tailors' Hall, Back Lane, Christchurch, Dublin 8.

Applicants should be able to show empathy with An Taisce's vision, be highly motivated and be able to demonstrate:
    • expert English (with the skills to copy-write, edit and proofread material due for publication),
    • the know-how to interact with donors and potential donors,
    • excellent data management and attention to detail,
    • a dexterous approach, from working on property management to dictaphone typing, from sourcing new IT/communications equipment to supporting staff and volunteers in the office, and
    • self-starter skills, as well as being a team worker.
    • The successful candidate will have a vital role in implementing An Taisce's bequest programme, writing and editing An Taisce publications, providing office support day-to-day and organising inspections of (and maintenance / small-scale enhancement of) selected properties.
Working hours will be five mornings per week with an additional 3 - 4 hours worked over the course of the week and the salary is €17,500.

If you believe that you fulfil the requirements above, please email and post your CV, a cover letter and 3 written samples of written work to: director@antaisce.org and by post to: James Nix, Director, An Taisce, The Tailors' Hall, Back Lane, Christchurch, Dublin 8.

Please mark emails and envelopes "Programmes & Administration Officer".

The written samples should be 500 to 2,500 words in length and can include extracts from longer documents. The aim here is to assess functional writing skills and the material can be drawn from a wide variety of sources (articles, essays, extracts from same, thesis excerpts, funding applications, etc). In emailing an application, the three samples should be contained within a single document, with a contents page giving a one-sentence description and word count for each of the three samples.

Closing Date for applications: Friday 20 December 2013 at 5.30pm
