Thanks for the link - I can't think of any operators locally with suitable accessible buses. Do Finnegans have accessible buses?

any buses bought in the last few years for Dublin Bus are actually owned by the NTA, so the contract may include the buses.

The 184 is a farcical bus route, it's so indirect. It still detours up to the Glenview hotel, but only in one direction so it's of no use to anyone living or working there.

There's a 3T weight restriction on the slip road leading off the N11 northbound towards Delgany. Maybe that's the reason for the detour?

the bus originally just turned right at Willow Grove, when they closed the gap there it had to go all the way up to Glenview to turn around.

That slip road is more recent, I was told some time ago (by the council) that the 3T limit is just to keep trucks out of Delgany and to force them to use the southern access road into Greystones - I would have thought Dublin Bus could apply for an exemption.

Whats the height of Barry's bridge anyone know?

Re: bought buses, it would make sense that any subsidised semi-start company would have to part with that portion of stock running the route being privatised.
