    Hi All

Im looking to fit an Alarm into a 4 bed Semi D and just wanted to get some opinions on the first quote I recieved. I plan to get another 2 - 3. What I've been quoted is as follows:

    HKC 1070 Panel
7 X Wireless Sensors (Dual Shock / Contact)
    1 X Wired Magnetic Contact
    1 X Wired PIR
    1 X External Sound Bell
1 x Internal Echo Bell Internal
    3 x Door Contacts
    1 x 7AMP Battery

    Supplied and Fitted for €1160.00

Does sound a bit high or about right?

    Thanks.

EDT: Also Forgot to mention there is no Dialler or GSM unit Included.

It's about right. You might get it a little bit cheaper but not much. If they come recommended then I'd go with them.

Do you actually know how much profit he's making?

    Do you understand VAT rates?

Do you know the costs of running a business?

I'd suggest the answer to all of the above is NO.

Would it be worth trying the more well known companies like Merrion Alarms or would a smaller company be more competitively priced?

Ah sure he only has to earn a living, not a big deal.

I'd safely say your right. €1160 for 12 wireless devices is a very tight price, especially for HKC .

Generally the local company's will be more competitive,

Don't be looking for an argument . The above price is including VAT .
    Do the maths.

He is not looking for an argument.. It's a valid question. You don't appear to have any concept of the costs incurred when running a business.
    This is not a nixer.
Why don't you do the maths and tell us how much you think this the company is making on this job after costs like
    Diesel
    Van
    Vehicle depreciation
    Vehicle Insurance
    Vehicle maintenance
    Tax
    Tolls
    Account fees
    Office equipment
    Software licences
    Public liability insurance
    Tools
    Sundry equipment not listed above
    Licence fees

I'm sure I've missed plenty more costs, but do the maths on that and come back to us please.
