Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is it possible to do the driving in the pits yourself? Hate when the games do that for you.

Actually, the more I play it that way the controls are far too sensitive. Back to flicking left and right.

What platform are you playing on mate? I found that too at the start but adjust your controller deadzone too about 25 and turn down the sensitivity to zero worked for me, ill check later too see what settings im using but its something along them lines but i felt samw as you at start.

Excellent, I'll try that. Playing on xbox one. Thanks a million.

In my third season of career mode now I'm in the formula c division and I still loving the game the variety is so cool, even this season alone if done karts and the stupid focus st championship and done the road race in a McLaren f1 driving on top of little caterhams and ariel atoms, yeh the game have lots of faults but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment as long as they fix them soon.

Just did the LeMans 24hr race there in carear. It was 2 hours of pain, it took me back to the days of doing endurance races in Forza 2.

Another thing, this game is riddled with bugs, 1 i got today was when i qualified in 1st then i started the race last.

Worst bug has to be leading a race and then it puts you 1 lap down

It's pretty much broken for me, bar about 20 laps I did last night. I tried out a few workarounds and wheel settings I found online, it was far from ideal but I can see its going to be great if they can fix enough of it.
I'm getting seriously pissed off not being able to play it properly though.

Kinda happy now I didn't go with the ps4 version now. I have loved the game so far.

Not sure this is a bug or not, in lmp3 series qualifying, i got over the line with about 30 seconds to spare but then about 30 seconds after that time the menu poped up saying qualifing over.

I was on a good lap aswell

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,715 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Just another oversight from SMS, again they knew about this aswell as the countless other issues.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Another bug, in LMP3 race, i win race 1 and then in the 2nd race it starts me 19/20, id accept this if it was reverse grid but the guy who finished 2nd in the 1st race then goes on to start on pole in the 2nd race.

has this game not been in development for 4+ years? Seems to be all about the lighting affects and not about rules and stuff

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,715 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Just started a GT3 race at nordschleife full, wanted to run a 6 lap race, all aids off, tyre and mechanical wear etc.
2 laps in im called to refuel and change tyres only for the stupid game to ram me into the barrier as i enter the pits, yes that stupid auto pit that cannot be turned off, race over with wrecked car, seriously ffs.

I'm kind of worried about the AI strength. I've just started Formula Rookie in my career with 100 AI and no assists and I won both races at Oulton Park by a combined total of 35 seconds (6 laps in Race 1, 7 laps in Race 2). I'm not fast at all (I'll probably be last if we ever play multi-player), there's no way I should be 2-3 seconds a lap faster than the best AI.

Your faster then me anyway I on about 80 percent ai strength and I'm fighting for wins but saying that I'm improving I keep putting it up by 10 as I get faster so hey in another week ill be up to 100

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,417 ✭✭✭.G.

I'm on 80 as well and just about get pole and wins. If I up it I'd be mid pack! I did read somewhere that difficulty changes as you progress through career so even if you start at 100% they'll get faster as you get faster.

I just find some cars easier to control then others therefore I'm doing better I was crap at Renault clio cup but I flew threw formula rookie and same with formula gulf and formula c

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

I started on 70% but now in the LMP2 Caterhams in career i stuck it to 100% and am still winning.

In slow cars though i atill use 70% for now.

Another bug iv happen to me 2 times in 2 days is just a complete cluster ****.

Black screen and then hard console reset. Surely its not good for the PS4

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,715 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

When mentioning ai difficulty it might be worth mentioning if your running with all aids off or not.

Im 50-50 really, sometimes run with factory ie whatever the car runs in real life, GT3 cars for example run with a bit of TC in rl anyways so :P
Other times i run with everything off.

I'm still in a kart! just finished my first kart season, doing a road cup thing along with it. Waiting on my wheel to come so I can get stuck in proper.

I have TC on too cos I'm using a pad. Will turn them off when the wheel comes, I hope :D

I've played it before. TBH I'd like to do the PCars career starting with the karts but it's just a pain. The wheel is waaaay too sensitive.

Is there any way to increase the steering lock on the go karts?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,715 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Yeah kartracing pro does a far better job than pcars does, pretty much every sim guru have slated the karts in pcars, i havent even bothered to try them myself.
Speaking of karts, GSCE next update will have them , reiza will guarantee supreme karting physics, thats a given.

Back to pcars, heres a really good force feedback guide.
Made a big difference to me, silly you have to go through this procedure for every single car individually to achieve acceptable ffb though.

That man dont pull any punches does he? From the console point of view if the game is as bad as people say it is I can understand the guys complaints, Ian bell doesn't give a toss about keeping people on side and maybe he shouldn't be allowed near twitter or forums but I can see it from his point of view too if he is getting stupid comments 24/7 but on the other side Ian bell is getting paid very well for doing what he does and if he doesn't want stupid comment well then dont make yourself accessible on the p cars forum and if you do well be prepared to be criticized,
Could you imagine what the abuse creators of drive club or maybe fifa would get if they were on forums like he is.
The thing that gets me most is the little tag along that invest money early on in the game that somehow think they are above everyone else the public has paid 70 quid in some cases and are entitled to be mad and to say that he was threatining him with criminal activity in saying he would shove a dvd up his ass is a bit over the top.
Either ways I love the game and hope it keeps improving :-) :-)

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,715 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Ian Bell isn't the most pleasant to deal with,I find his posts on many forums to be very childish to say the least.
His latest exchanges on rd forums showed this yet again, his air of self entitlement is nausiating in the extreme at times.Yes the idiots trolling official forums are tough to deal with but a man in his position and poor record of interaction should avoid a forums totally.
Fun game with huge potential but after 4 years of development it's shockingly buggy, missing so much, the worst bit us there are countless issues they were told about they knew about for years and ignored, that's just utterly arrogant.
I find it laughable the likes of Ian Bell are talking about pcars 2 while the game is in such a state.

I think the problem with project cars is its not console ready or maybe it should never of been on a console, I think pc gamers are maybe a bit more used to patches and updates but coming from consoles myself i think most of the time games are ment to be pretty much finished article when launched. I know that hasn't been case lately with many titles tho. I am enjoying it on pc the few bugs I've noticed aren't anything major.

They should have made it pc only and got it running perfect before thinking about releasing it on consoles.
I'm actually in the process of downloading GT6 on a PS3 I was given a couple of years ago and forgot about.
It took a night to download, a day to install, another day and night to download and install no less than 17 updates!
I need to try out a new racing game and Project Cars is unplayable for me, GT6 will hopefully fill the gap.
The attached file is the amount of time it'll take to install said updates, how broken was this game?!

You're absolutely spot on about that, considering how long they took to make GT5 and how large their staff is, it's crazy to think that they used models from the PS2 ffs!
I'm more looking forward to trying out some old tracks I used to love.

Sorry for derailing this PC thread with GT talk everyone, but in fairness, PC has driven me to GT6!

I don't think so. I think the difficulty is just all over the place. I'm winning with ease in Formula Rookie at 100 with no assists, but in the Caterham's on 90 I was struggling to be competitive (at least 1.5 seconds off last place in qualifying).

Although, I was simming to the end of the session a lot, so that bug made it seem much worse when I was like 4 seconds per lap off pole, when my lap was balls to the wall. It seems very difficult with road cars, and easy enough with open wheelers. It's really strange.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,320 ✭✭✭v3ttel

I forgot to ask actually, is anybody else struggling with understeer? I'm not sure if it's my wheel degrees of rotation or what, but I have loads of understeer with pretty much every car. I'm constantly having to decrease the front tire pressures to help.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,715 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

@ v3ttel yes the ai is allover the place, fast on some tracks/cars slow as hell on others, no consistency , yet another fcuk up from SMS, yet Ian Bell over on official forums still trying to to say their ai is the best in the business
