Anyone else hear H and M are coming in the New Year

    I have heard H and M are coming to Waterford in January, taking over the Brasserie area at City Square, can anyone confirm?

    Hasn't this been mentioned before. Weren't there plans to renovate the front of city square for this.

    City square got planning to drop and rebuild all that area some months ago the tenants were moved out and then it stopped dead in the water. Probably waiting for a definitive pick up in retail before the bankers will lob the money out. Not like Penneys who build with cash!

    Speaking of which, its not on the city councils website yet, but city square has applied for planning permission to change the area where RTE’s offices used to be to retail use. Could be related to H&M. But there are definitely plans a foot in city square. This is the third area of city square now that is ear marked for redevelopment. A huge Pennys and three new big names in city square would be a huge boost to retail in the city centre, fingers crossed.

    A few weeks ago, a friend was on their website and put in Waterford on the store locator thing and it popped up "store coming soon"....

    yeah couple years back someone on here at it 'on good authority' 'know someone high up' or whatever language used that contracts were being signed 'this' weekend (Years ago) that this was happening. the only true thing that definetly happend was that planning was sought and recieved, years ago.
