Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Everton Team News:

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has reported no fresh fitness concerns.

Leighton Baines is believed to be making a better than expected recovery from a fractured toe, although it is unlikely he when the left-back will return.

    Manchester United

United have had mixed results so far under new manager David Moyes and injuries have not helped Moyes settle in at Old Trafford.

Having said that former Everton player Wayne Rooney has been on hand to snatch much need goals whilst Robin Van Persie has been out due to injury.

Rooney looks to be relishing his freedom on the pitch but with a few errors at the back teams have been finding it easy to score against the Red Devils lately.

    Manchester United Team News:

Manchester United’s Phil Jones misses this fixture after receiving a yellow card against Spurs at White Hart Lane on Sunday after amassing five yellow cards.

Robin van Persie has “a chance” of recovering from a combination of groin and toe problems to play.

Game isn't on UK tv so it's the usual sources or wait for highlights.

Absolute must win game for United.

Am I right in saying that this game is not on TV?
Given the circumstances, that's a disgrace.

Theres the problem, people paying over 100 bills a month for full UK tv sports packages and not getting all the mid table or top table games.

    Whats the point ?

Anyway back on topic. Should be a gud un.

According to @DiscoMirror #MUFC team is: De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Fellaini, Giggs, Welbeck, Kagawa, Rooney

    Unconfirmed as of yet

it really is frightening that Giggs probably is a better option than Cleverly right now.

I still don't think he is, not tonight anyway.

Surely hernandez will be leaving in jan or next summer. He is getting feck All Games . Welbeck Must be pretty special in Training . To me he has. Bad Balance . Average first Touch and his decision making is Bad. Pace and work effort is Great but you need more than that.

Welbeck plays as LW whereas Hernandez can't. Welbeck is not competing with Hernandez. Rooney, RVP and now Kagawa is competing with him.

Do you Think i Dont know that. Dear god. Hernandez imo is due a start. If that means. Nani left. Valencia right and play rooney behind hernandez then So be it.

please no welbeck, please no welbeck

He is due a start but Welbeck is not taking his place as you mentioned in the first post (by the look of it)

Nani was excellent against Leverkusen and then gets dropped for the next two games? Great way to build his confidence

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,311 ✭✭✭✭weldoninhio

Can see Everton taking United apart in midfield. Rooney dropping too deep due to frustration at not getting any service and the entire United shape being messed up because of that.

    3-1 Everton

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,843 ✭✭✭✭Nalz

    2-1 Everton head says

    2-1 United Heart says

    Nani was excellent

    Excellent?

Come off it. Decent maybe, excellent not a chance.

To add to that Bayer were awful, absolutely rubbish.

The only thing more infuriating than Welbeck starting instead of Nani would be for Welbeck to play behind Rooney and Kagawa to be on the left.

Nope meant as two different points, sorry, Welbeck prob will play a stormer but more than likely he will dement me again,I just don't rate him and I can't see him improving enough to ever change my mind,

Well.. at least Fellaini always plays well in United v Everton games.

Actually think that Moyes will have our tactics spot on for this one. 2-1 United.

    Confirmed line-ups from BBC:
Manchester United starting XI: De Gea; Rafael, Vidic, Smalling, Evra; Valencia, Fellaini, Giggs, Kagawa, Welbeck; Rooney.

Everton starting XI: Howard, Oviedo, Distin, Jagielka, Coleman, McCarthy, Barry, Pienaar, Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku

    Happy about:

Rafael on the right of defence, Smalling in the centre of defence, Kagawa starting.

    Unhappy about:

Continuing reliance on Giggs, no Nani, Kagawa seemingly on the left wing again instead of behind striker.

We've struggled against big strikers this year, could be a long night.

Man Utd subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Cleverley, Nani, Young, Chicharito, Januzaj

Everton subs: Robles, Heitinga, Jelavic, Deulofeu, Naismith, Osman, Stones.

Nani's performances are always overrated, fact of the matter is that his work rate is pathetic and when the going gets tough he disappears.

Oviedo against Valencia is going to be key tonight. Valencia is a much more powerful man.

If Oviedo is getting out-muscled then Martinez will probably put Barry there again, although that would break up the midfield partnership that is our best chance of controlling the game.

Your so wrong it's pretty stupid. Just watch the game last week if you think he doesn't defend. Also Nani is the type of player who keeps trying difficult things and gets frustrating. But he eventually creates 1 or 2 goalscoring chances so your point about him disappearing is just completely wrong.

Disagree, he can be wasteful but he always makes something happen and that's a bit harsh on his work rate tbh

Of course nani will look good when we are 5 nil up, but unfortunately when we are 1 nil down its like playing with 10 men. He does create chances but not before giving the ball away constantly.

No coincidence that 2 managers in a row regularly leave him on the bench. It just amazes me how we gave him a new 5 year contract.

You're being a little too controversial for anyone to take you seriously. Better luck next time.

Not sure how I'm being controversial, most of my mates would agree he doesn't work hard enough for the team.

    Anyway, nuff said.
