Were they any good live? Thinking of going seeing them next year, twice if dates permit & if they are actually good at the first one!

    Which one?

Joy Formidable were excellent, really try to put on a show.

1975 were pretty good alright, i wouldn't be their biggest fan but needed a gig to go to in Vienna and had seen them at EP so gave them a shot. Sex is a great tune.

    Lean year for me..

    Andy Irvine - Spirit Store
    Primal Scream - Derry
    Vantastival - Bellurgan Park
    Neil Young - RDS
Body & Soul - Ballinlough Castle
    Spiritualized - NCH

No Place Like Dome - Sligo
    Soundgarden - O2
    Glen Hansard - Spirit Store
    Depeche Mode - O2
    The Orb - Button Factory
    Jake Clemons - Spirit Store

Lots of gigs I wanted to get to but didn't for various reasons, mostly financial - Bruce Springsteen, Knockanstockan, Electric Picnic etc

Absolute Highlight: Spiritualized - mind blown.

Absolute Lowlight: Jake Clemons - sub-Hootie and the Blowfish pish..

Honourable Mention: The Orb - 20 years on from UfOrb and still melting brains

Disappointment of the year: Body & Soul - having been every year previously, seriously considering giving it a miss in 2014.

Surprise of the year: Depeche Mode - never really into them but a fantastic gig

Feels like a show off thread, but I'm doing this to remind myself too.

    Eels
    Body n Soul
    Volcano Choir
    Youth Lagoon
    Samhain
    Longitude
    Mark Lanegan
    Ft Freddy's Drop
    Chromatics
    Solar Bears
    Spiritualized
    Mount Kimbie
    Local Natives (twice)
    Pixies

    Tame Impala
    White Denim
    Feck Buttons
    Grizzly Bear
    Iron & Wine
    Toro Y Moi
    Neil Young
    Calexico

Highlights were Fat Freddys Drop in Vicar St (made my way direct from Body and Soul to it, top notch band live) and Pixies in the Olympia (had never seen them, got in early for a pit pass) and Spiritualized in the NCH (partly because the venue is just great but it was great to hear that whole album played live with the orchestra)

Gigs I would have went to if thy weren't in the Point:
    Soundgarden
    Sigur Ros
    Queens of the Stone Age
    Bon Iver
