The Broncos offence has been awesome tonight - utterly unstoppable - and that is without Welker for the entire second half.

As for the flag on Pollard - I suspect the antics of Pollard earlier in the game fed into the refs decision.

News is that Gronk has a torn ACL.

Just saw a gif of the hit. Pretty brutal.

As I said earlier it looked like it was a bounty hit

Seahawks get their noses in front with a FG. 17-16.

Great run by Gore but looks like he did his hamstring.

    Wait, he's back in.

Thoughts on the late game, lads?

Broncos run 90+ offensive plays tonight and Matt Prater breaks the FG record.

Satisfactory night - next up the Bolts.

You're giving a team that never loses at home, who are odds on, no chance.

Russell Wilson going to lose an eyebrow over this?

Matt Prater breaks the FG record.

Similar to Beamon setting the High Jump record at altitude, back in Mexico City in 1968. Such records when achieved at altitude, always tend to be questioned and never seem to carry the same legitimacy amongst purists. For those records that are set at sea level.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,719 ✭✭✭polaris68

The guy whose record Prater beat was Tom Dempsey, a kicker for the New Orleans Saints. He had (has) a club foot - fascinating stuff.

Seattle Seahawks are still in contention even after todays defeat

That was definitely one of the all-time great editions of Red Zone today. Trying to recount everything that happened:

    1) 5 TD's in the last two minutes of the Ravens v Vikings game, capped off with a last second winner on a great catch from Marlon Brown

    2) Antonio Brown inches away from completing a last second winning play full of laterals as he just about stepped out of bounds on his way into the end zone.

    3) All those fun snow games!

    4) Patriots with 2 TD's in the final 30 seconds to go up by 1 point before Cundiff misses a 58 yarder to win it

    5) Matt Prater breaks the longest field goal record hitting a 64 yarder

    6) 49ers beating Seahawks by 2 points on a field goal with 25 seconds to go

    7) 85 touchdowns beating the previous Red Zone record of 81

..And I missed the lot after falling asleep around 8pm. Woke up briefly when heard a loud roar when the Pats scored the game winning TD!

Now to catch up.. well after the Saints game.

Panthers secondary getting exposed by a good QB.

What an incredibly stupid call by Peyton. He declines a penalty and takes the 2nd and 3 instead. They then go 3 and out. Mind boggling.

Just woke up to check the score. Disappointing so far. Stewart was deliberately hit on the knees on that last drive though by the looks of it.

When have you ever seen a game with 54 points scored and 0 kicks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

Just watched the game in Philly on Sky - some entertainment and a few great run TD's.

I know the elements played there part but Eagles run game did brilliantly against the Lions, given they were giving up something like 3ypc the last 5 games.

Eagles-Lions: Played in 8 inches of snow
Ravens-Vikings: 5 lead changes in the last 2 mins 5 seconds
Patriots-Browns: Patriots make a 14 point comeback after being 13 down with 1 min 1 second on the clock
Denver-Titans: 80 point shootout, including the longest ever field goal
49ers-Seahawks: Winning field goal with 26 seconds remaining
Steelers-Dolphins: Steelers win the game and save their season with time up after about 5 laterals only to have it taken away after the receiver puts his foot out of bounds by about an inch (ironically the week the Tomlin incident)

These are all season highlights let alone football that happened over the space of 6 hours.

I love the karma aspect of this with Brown stepping out-of-bounds, but it likely wouldn't have counted anyway

On the other side of the coin, I'm a Cowboys fan for the night.

One of the few times times I want the Boys to win, even though I'd much prefer to see the Eagles take the division

Thought this was pretty cool for anyone who plays poker - the % win ratio for the Ravens/Vikes game illustrated in a poker hand.

    http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NFL/AFC.html

Has all but closed up the AFC playoff race to everyone but the Dolphins and Ravens.....Dolphins with a much higher likelihood due to remaining schedule, despite the Ravens holding the tie-breaker.

I could honestly see the Ravens finishing 0-3 with games left against Detroit, New England and Cincinnati.......and I think sportsclubstats have the same thinking.....in that case the Dolphins would need only 1 win, against either New England, New York or Buffalo to get in
