I was on the health centre site and I can't see if they do breast checks. You can get free ones around dublin but you gotta be over 50 or something... I kinda really want to get a breast check but I don't wanna have to pay for it... Does anyone know if the health centre does these??

Any GP will do a breast exam for you (though sometimes female GPs tend to do more than male GPs as chaperones not necessarily required). If something suspicious is found they can refer you on to a breast clinic.

The national breast check screening is for women over 50 as they are statistically more likely to have a malignancy and they get mammograms biannually.

College health is free for students, so ring reception and check (you may need to make an appointment with a female GP, I don't know their policy). The nurse may do breast exams I don't know. If you have noticed something yourself then let them know, they may be able to put your mind at ease, or refer you on depending of what they find. And you can inform them of any relevant family history during the consultation.

    Hope this helps

The doctors in the health centre definitely do perform breast checks and will refer you to a specialist breast clinic if they think it's necessary or you would like further investigations. Ring them to make an appointment and if you would be more comfortable with a female doctor specify that when making the appointment. You don't have to say what the appointment is for when making it just say you would like an appointment with a female doctor! Best of luck, try not to worry about it!

And it is free to see the doctors in the health centre!

Yup, any GP can do a breast check, and will refer you to Breast Check (probably in St James's Hospital) if they think there's need. If you're referred don't be worried at all at all, it's just to be sure, it doesn't mean you have a malignancy. Always go to GP as first port of call if you're worried about anything health-wise. They can advise and refer.
