sleep tight old fella, you don't have to suffer no more, RIP

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.

The man was a terrorist but the media whitewashed his past. He carried out bombings and advocated violence to gain power. The reason why he became so revered? He won. Oh, and he had a change of mind and wanted "peace".

    Good riddance

There had to be one of these posts of course

Get thee to Wikipedia or some history page and read up on what Apartheid was. Like to be there?

RIP to a very humble yet charismatic man.

Unfortunately his political ideology and that of the ANC has been somewhat of a catastrophe for all of South Africa.

May he rest in peace, all i can think about is all the politicians who will be at his funeral trying to appear all upset yet only trying to raise there profile.

"Take your weapons and throw them into the sea"?

That was to do with in-fighting in Natal. He was offered early release if he renounced violence and refused it.

The premiere of the film about him is ongoing now, coincidentally.

Nelson Mandela at Croke Park, during the Special Olympics.

Only for him, South Africa would have been in Civil War for years.

    An incredible man. RIP.

Some people make the world a better place and he was one of them. Genuinely saddened to hear of his passing. A massive inspiration to us all. There'll never be another like him.

I don't know enough about him to comment on him tbh. That book long walk to freedom has sat near my bed for several months now maybe it's time to read it.

RIP Nelson Mandela. A fine man who firmly believed in a 32 county republic and was against the provos decision to decommission.

So the end justifies the means? I'm sure all those civilians killed at the hands of his group Umkhonto we Sizwe agree with you.

South Africa is going the way of Rhodesia. A once prosperous nation heading straight into the garbage,

I think that was in his first speech after coming out of prison after 27 years. Some people build hate, but this man, after such an injustice against him by the government basically said let's keep it peaceful,

If only there was more like him.
