    Can anyone tell me the best way to start a website for advertising purposes?

    Yes, you can create classifieds sites, there are many script in the market, free as well as paid..but you have to work on promotion part to market your classifieds site.

    If you want to create a website for advertising purposes then you can build a classified site or develop a free coupon site. Once you develop your site you have to make regular and attractive post update. Also promote your site by different ways.

    its not classified its similar to groupon

    That train has long since left the station, lots of info on the Business and Enterprise forum on boards.ie. Unless you have a really innovative and new take on the concept plus lots and lots of money for marketing and advertising, you will probably just burn your time and investment.

    I do dont worry. its a very different target to groupon or living social :)
